I sincerely sympatise with that fellow buy stop saying what you don't know about human right violation. How many suspected Al Qaeda terrorists had US kept ( and are still keeping) at Guantanamo Bay? Fight against insurgents are associated with legal and illegal detentions due to the difficulty in distinguishing culprits from the innocent. Anyway, I really pity the student in question here.

"Nigerian Hidden War" Genocide Under President Jonathan

by Princess Marian Awolowo

Firstly, on behalf of millions of Nigerians across the globe, we thank Channel 4 Dispatches Program for exposing the truth about the hidden war that is been waged in Nigeria against Nigerians by Boko Haram in connivance with Nigerian State Agents. We can assure you that we ordinary concerned Nigerians and friends of Nigeria will ensure that millions of innocent Nigerians demand justice. Once again, we thank you for this brilliant service to humanity with a high probability of saving lives in the future.

Dear Nigerians,

Information reaching us since yesterday confirms our suspicion that Nigerian Government has used mutiny to BARRED OTHERS INCLUDING Nigerians across the world except UK to have access to this Video which confirms without any shred of doubt that Nigerian Armed Forces are committing act of genocide against Nigerians, especially thousands of innocent Northerner's.

We believe it is your fundamental right as good citizens, amiable and loving Nigerians to know the truth about the 21st century hidden genocide that is been committed by President Jonathan's regime, as this will set all of us free from future preventable retaliations, replications, or any other foreseeable disasters that we may confront if we failed to stop this barbaric behavior, apparently instigated, initiated, managed and conducted by those we trusted with our lives-The Nigerian Military Forces under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

God will punish you for this imbecilic post!

So the guy was held without trial, ILLEGALLY for three years, he witnessed some people even die in detention and you're here claiming that the Military was 'humane' and 'professional'?

I pray you get treated this 'humanely' and 'professionally'.

You can take that 'presidential fund' of a very meager 100k and shove it up your backside. If your life is so worthless that 100K will compensate you for 3 years of detention, why assume everyone else is so bereft of ambition?

I wouldn't join you in exchange of insults but "gorilla tactics" being used by BH was very effectively used in Vietnam and the USA (yes, Americans) way of sorting out which Vietnamese was an enemy or friend was to: "kill ALL of them and let God sort out"!!!

Did you border to research

And tomorrow the us government refuse them weapons to continue using in the attack on innocents all on the name of fighting book harm, they open their stinking mouths to opine rubbish. Don't do your home work and attack the real enemies instead keep a trail of collateral damage. Soon you and the terrorist you're fighting will have an even record in attacking innocents.

That tells me something, many innocent souls were murdered by our military men.Thank God this guy made it out alive, if he had been dead, and saw his body, we would be saying another boko haram is dead.Nigeria right now is the most hostile place to be born.

These Guys should get a good Lawyer and sue the Nigerian Military and the Federal Government for 3yrs of illegal detention. They can't just waste somebody's 3yrs of life and throw N100,000 at him and everything will be alright. This is all because of the incompetent , brutal and illegal ways which the Nigerian Military and paramilitary handle issue. It is better to let as many Criminals as possible go free than to allow one innocent Man suffer for a crime he knows nothing about.

The Nigerian Army should have commandos or Special Force that would have been more effective.
The Boko Haram terrorist sect would have been infiltrated long ago instead of arresting and torturing innocent civilians.

Just look at these folks blaming the guy for his detention. If you have never been bullied by the military or police, you should be grateful. In this country, anybody can be picked up, detained and tortured by brutal soldiers or policemen. By the time your "connection" sets you free, some damage may have been done without any hope of compensation.

Maybe you should visit prisons around the country and see for yourselves. Most, I repeat, MOST of the inmates have no cases against them, they are awaiting trial. Some have been like that for 10 years or more. Sadly, the judicial system is very sluggish and reluctant to release these victims.

Many police stations have innocent people locked up in their smelly cells. Young people who landed in police wahala because of various highhanded police raids. They remain in custody for days until they make bail. If not, it's prison straight.

What about those languishing in guardrooms in cantonments across the country just because they wouldn't stand for the harassment on public roads?

Just pray you don't fall into the hands of our lawless security personnel. Our soldiers view civilians as peasants or even dogs. They are quick to label us "bloody civilians". It is no wonder that the US, based on allegations of human rights violation, has the excuse to withhold assistance.

We might equally say that
Of all the buses in Nigeria, how come a particular one was the one that a container fell upon in Ojuelegba last week
Some people were beaten up in Onipanu by the BRT Bus-burning soldiers. Of all the people in Nigeria, why those people
If a man is hit by a stray bullet, why him in particular
All these random victims must be of questionable character or have offended God

BTW since you believe that he must be of questionable character even after he has been cleared by those who detained him,
would you like to file charges against him?

Is it now a crime to look otherwise?
So criminals looking cultured and with the bearing of gentleman should be ignored
and people in their homes not so looking should be incarcerated
Right?

This is a sick country

Many innocent people died in the niger-delta when the military were going hard on the militants..

When stuffz like this happen, the innocent must suffer with the guilty and that can't be absorbed.

Collateral damage is part and percel of every form of warfare.

Human right abuse is inevitable because boko haram doesn't put on a mask indicating "I am Boko Haram"..

Sorry tho! Thank God you made it and the FG should pay some sort of compensation.

AT LEAST!!? That's the phrase that keeps Nigeria in the mess it is in. The phrase that is used to justify everything that is wrong with this Country.

At least your got your passport even though you had to pay far more than the official price to grease elbows. At least they least you go even though the police extorted money from you, at least you have a job even though your employer discriminates and pays pretty much illegal pay levels, at least, at least at least.

Stories like this makes me agree with the usa when they did not sell weapons to Nigeria. And yet in the giant of Africa all these abuse goes on and nothing happens. No one held to account.

In a sane country even war crimes are persecuted if you do not follow the engagement procedures. Nigerians Nah anything goes and Jonathan is using blame on America to campaign.

for three years the military was feeding you am i correct?
its easy to blame military but tough to do their job.
go to Guantanamo bay Cuba and ask inmates their experiences
when terrorism happens shit happens period. sorry dude but the military guys are just doing their job nothing personal. Thank god they didnt kill you. a lot of innocent people like you get caught in cross fire and you cant blame anyone.
the military didnt pick you fom Imo state and carried you to Maiduguri, you were caught in war zone as a suspect and released after three years.
the period u were kept is too long but then how do you blame military when Boko came to release their brothers from Giwa Barracks. Support your military, its your country.

The opinions being pushed here make me sad to be from the same nation and race as some of these posters.

The typical black mentality that misfortune is deserved, and that the suffering of others can be discountenanced because ' it is not my portion'.

This horror story can happen to anyone. That is the truth. You can get picked up, or murdered by some police or soldiers and nothing will happen. All you need is the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time
