Northern Nigeria is gradually becoming part of Boko Haram's Islamic caliphate. While we have a clueless president in Abuja.

That's the problem. People that have passion for the job couldn't get there because they don't have "long legs".

empty barrels make the loudest noise. time and time again, like the boy that cried wolf, the Nigerian military has been caught with their pants down. it's so bad that America refused to sell arms to us because they are filled with traitors and bh sympathisers. it's bad enough that the world sees a Nigerian as a liar but must we add our military as well. get the facts straight and make it official. in a couple of days events would show the above to be a bogus lie and the distrust continues

A GEJ hater? I'm sorry to say but you have lost all sense of humanity. Do you know how many innocents were killed in Mubi, Gwoza, Bama and many other towns? Maybe if you or your family were victims, you will rethink what the FG has done to help protect your life or property. while you are praising GEJ, people are dying including children. And like every other bad news, GEJ will carefully look over them and life goes on.

I gain nothing by supporting GEJ, but the fact remains, people are dying. People whom neither you or I are better than. Yeah we blame these mad insurgents. But what is the oil-rich Nigerian government doing to protect its citizen's lives and property?

Boko Haram Releases New Video On Captured Towns,
Shekau Seen Preaching To Locals

A new Boko Haram video obtained by AFP on Sunday shows militants on an armoured vehicle parading down a road in an unidentified town they apparently control and the group's leader Abubakar Shekau preaching to locals. In the 44-minute video, residents are also shown cheering the terrorists. In addition, Shekau is heard reiterating that there are no ongoing ceasefire talks with the government, and threatening to kill the man purported to be Boko Haram’s negotiator. He also expresses support for ISIS and other so-called caliphates, similar to the one he claims to have established in Nigeria. “To everyone living in Islamic Caliphate, we convey our greetings,” he said, specifically giving a shout out to “brethren” in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Shishan/Chechnya, Yemen, Somalia and “the Caliphate in Iraq and Syria.”
OMG!! You must be kidding me!! So who was the guy the military killed?? shocked
Over 60 people reportedly died over the weekend as Nigerian security forces battled to recapture Mubi, Adamawa state, from the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Elite anti-riot mobile policemen were said to have joined the counter-offensive operations to flush out the insurgents who took over Mubi town about two weeks ago, National Mirror reports.

According to Mallam Bello Idi, a resident who fled Mubi as a result of the counter-offensive operations, scores of insurgents have been killed, while several others have surrendered.

“I saw as much as over sixty bodies on my way out of the town. What I witnessed was horrific; anybody still left in Mubi is in serious danger. Many of the insurgents themselves have been forced to retreat into the town from the outskirts as the military advance into the town,” Bello said.

He explained that several residents who still remained in town were prevented from leaving by the insurgents who had plans of using them as shield against the security agent’s heavy bombardment.

He added that several people have already been caught in the line of fire.

According to report, some of the fleeing insurgents attacked some villagers in Makira, on the outskirts of Mubi, killing two and setting ablaze the local church.

However, the villagers were said to have overpowered the insurgents, killing three.

The insurgents were also repelled by a combined team of mobile policemen and a detachment of soldiers stationed in Hong who responded quickly.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian military allegedly arrested a top military officer in Yola over his links with Boko Haram.

He is believed to be funding the insurgents as several billions of bank transactions to the sect was linked to him.

He is alleged to also be providing the sect with vital information about movement of arms and other tactical moves.

Aha! With the arrest of BH sponsors, we would be striking the serpent's head rather than tickling the tail as we have been doing all this while. Bless God for our new courage.

Half truth.

My Take:
Nigerian military and MOPOL advanced on Mubi as they earlier said they would.
They encountered stiff resistance from the insurgents as they progressed.
In the process of their advance, they suffer huge casualties while also inflicting heavy losses on the insurgents.
Though making progress, the personnel cost(death toll on the Nigerian side) of doing so was taking a huge toll on the morale of the men and becoming unbearable as they were yet to even enter Mubi proper.
They determine that it's not worth it and beat a retreat.
The operation is unsuccessful. At least they were able to kill many insurgents. Weldone.
It's good news enough to make NL front page.

So it was in the fall of Bama. Our army have remained FIXED in Konduga and dared NOT advance into Bama ever since.
At least they were able to defend Konduga. Thank God.

Shut your trap there hypocrite. There is nothing GEJ will do that will satisfy you and your political bigots. GEJ does not need your support to move this nation forward. Do you think that fighting BH is like fighting armed robbers? You must be a hopeless slowpoke to write the trash you just wrote. Have you asked the state governor of that state what he uses his monthly security vote for? Since you care so much more than GEJ, why not take a ride to Mubi and join the army to fight BH so that you can be sure of the insurgent casualties when it happens. Rubbish.

The Americans and Britt's (monitoring developments and know everything going on) arnt yet featuring Nigeria Nightly in their media in the feverish way that informs us that they're getting set to jump in and ruin everything. Beegs has disappeared from his blog -i discovered the blog just before Christmas last year and gathered, eventually, that he'd had it for over Five years and, in addition to the frustration he felt because the Military did not recognizing the good he could do, threatened to quit several times. However, his disappearance may have something to do with the last Military appeal to Nigerians operating in Socialmediasphare to quit commenting on military matters. The fact that these outrages in the North East has not prompted him to return, suggests he probably has more information on what is going on in the North East and it is not all doom and gloom. The Nigerian military media people are coy, Goodluck Johnathan saying nothing. So, collectively, these developments could mean that the Military are more in control of the situation than it might seem from our layperson perspective.

We don't want only scores of insurgents to be killed.

We want insurgency to stop.

Nigerian army should do the real thing and stop telling us lies.
If they use full force on them, you and your likes will be the first to run out to United Nations and cry human rights abuse.

That's why the US initially refused to sell them arms, bc of indicting reports of abuses by the Nigerian Army.
