LYING

Due principal to the under siege mentality we have developed based on prevailing world economic situation, we now place lying under necessary acts where the end justifies the means. Afterall there’s a saying that behind any rich man is a crime and so if lying is our crime, then it’s not much – practically immaterial and hence “allowed”

The prodigal nature of GOD’s love for does not impact immediate punishment for the lies we tell. We even believe that we can glorify HIS name by lying so far we get the opportunity telling the lie would give us. Because HE doesn’t let us live a life of regrets by allowing the consequences of our lies to impact on us we assume it’s ok to lie so far you are not caught or so far you believe someone would not die based on it. The question is how do you know the extent of the collateral damage you lie has caused.
Sometimes I marvel at this unrequited love GOD keeps showering on us.

In short we believe that when we lie and “get away” with it, we have HIS blessings or we were being wise.
Our very limited knowledge makes us not to realize the implication and effects of any lie we tell. How it reduces the glory of GOD in us and how it affects others that we lied against.

But one certain thing is that once you lie, you need to keep lying to be “truthful” except you decide to conquer your pride and bare it all.
The main reason we lie is because of our PRIDE !!! So once you lie, know that you are being proud !!!
Implication: You are unsure/ scared of trusting in GOD’s love to be there for you if you are sincere and truthful hence the need to take the law in your hands and cover for yourself/ perceived inadequacies – PRIDE !!

We get so scared of our share of CHRIST's Cross that we try to avoid it by lying only later to lie to try to win HIS blessings.

Being truthful means you really believe in HIM and HIS WORDS !! and ready to allow HIM to be your LORD and your GOD - having faith in HIM

FORNICATION

This is one very serious sin that our society today has communized. People even pray to GOD for success in committing this sin. The worst part is that it’s NEVER committed out of seeming “necessity” or ignorantly but willfully!!!
We always consciously close our ears to the HOLY SPIRIT and even expect GOD to understand !!! What effrontery and wickedness

We believe we “need/ have” to do it to be seen as:
- being wise
- part of the brave/ courageous ones
- part of the society
- being up to date
- knowledgeable

We chose to ‘forget” that our body is a TEMPLE of the HOLY SPIRIT and should not be defiled. The repercussions is far more than can be imagined.
It:
- contaminates our spiritual life
- gets us into a covenantal relationship with the devil and his agents,
- diminishes the grace of GOD in us
- effects us even afterwards

We normally blame the devil but it starts from/ with us before the devil lends a helping hand.

STEALING

The funny aspect of this one is that we tend to shift the blame for committing it to GOD.

We believe we have to do it to:
- have the means to provide for the family HE has blessed us with
- Serve HIM in the poor and the needy
- Serve HIM in the Church
- Ensure that we the good thieves get the part meant for GOD’s children
- Ensure we don’t become beggars after all there’s a song that says “me I no go suffer, I no go beg for bread, ….”

The rules are:
- steal but don’t get caught – shows intelligence
- only thieves get caught
- robbery without arms is not robbery/ stealing but taking
- source of wealth doesn’t matter only use of it
- if you can’t beat them, join them as all cannot be heading towards perdition

DISOBEDIENCE

We often tend to forget that the first law in Heaven is order which can only stem from obedience!! Satan main issue was disobedience not fear of GOD. As Samuel told King Saul, obedience is better than sacrifice!!

Nothing good stems from disobedient. As the tree of disobedient cannot bear good fruit. We tend to believe that we can bear good fruit from acts of disobedience.

The fall of man stemmed from disobedience of Adam and Eve. It is only when we obey that we can bear good fruits in line with GOD’s divine will

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST was obedient unto death. A supposedly shameful death which HIS obedience turned to glorious death - GOOD FRIDAY!!
