Nigeria is a soveriegn Nation, why are our slow leaders allowing the US to determine our fate.

USA killed thousands of innocent iraqis and Afghanis during the invasion.

Saudi Arabia still chops off people hands, and cut off their necks yet US supplies them weaponry.

Russia are true allies, see how they are standing firm with Syria,Russians are more objective than the US.

The US acts like greedy b-itches,only coming after benefits and our market, strategically,we aint as important to them cos they know our leaders will always concede to their demands without arguments.

Our problem is we have way too much respect for the US,they benefit more from us,and yet can not assist us in the only way we need them for.

Why announcing this, why not just buy the weapons.

For the novice talking about Russian being racists, even among us aint we tribalistic, nepotism is the order of the day in Naija-what has this got to do with business.

This is the most unserious govt in the history of Nigeria. They wasted 6 months begging the US for arms, another 6 months sponsoring articles in newspapers lambasting the US for not selling arms now we are on the 6months of telling us they are 'going to' buy from Russia. There is a subsisting order for helicopters and maybe tanks, so which one is this new one. All this is just posturing to award procurement contracts to the Aurthur Ezehs, cronies of IBB and share the money between Senators and PDP top shots. THIEVES profitting from blood money.

Dear, can you substantiate this claim? Or we just enjoy running our mouth leaving our brains behind? Do you know about character assassination?

First and foremost america is the problem of this world...according to wikileaks most of d sponsored troubles are sponsored by america...remember julian assange is an american,,America said nigeria forces r involved in extra judicial killings...wikileaks showed the whole world what america did in iraq..dey did all dey could to shut the bobo up..even tru assasinations they even brought up a case dat he was involved in rape..

Nigerians are the problem of themselves...everyone believes america is the. Solution to their problem..why do u think russia doesn't support america...did u hear dey r planning to ban apple in russia because d ceo tim cook said he is gay..america believes in human rights...a policeman gunned ferguson in usa am sure u all rmbr dat case...

But the most painful situations is the way nigerians talked down on the armed forces..u guys forget most of dis guys are family men bread winners..go to the military barracks and ull see widows everywhere crying...many junior officers have been killed a lieutenant lost his life three days ago..the americans honour their veterans because dey knw for a person to do this is more than sacrifice..but many things involved..

According to the austaralian negotiator he said d america cia...am sure u guys watch movies don't u guys sees the code in them...all this america movies we watch have messages but many of us are intrigued in them because of d actions..

Let's be observant..and stop throwing blames let unite and face our problem...which I bliv its the USA...if u don't bliv me..go to wikileaks site and ull see truth in image and vieos

If Nigeria is planing to buy arms from Russia at this time, the question i need answered is; Where have the country been buying arms all these years? Where have they been buying military equipments with our over 1 trillion naira yearly defense budget?
We urgently need answers for these questions from the PDP government after 15 years of running the government.

And which country on the planet isn't racist, either overt or covert?

You mean America that is still deeply segregated, with all kinds of racial atrocities isn't racist? The UK with institutionalised racism, and overt racism once you step outside London, or get into the corporate world? France? Germany? Or Spain/Portugal/Italy where it's difficult being a black woman cos you might be tagged a prostitute with folks trying to seek ya services? grin

I saw a documentary about Afro-Russians the other day, and they're no different from black folks from other countries. And they see themselves as Russians, and love it there. Travel more, the planet is racially segregated.

I appreciate the effort and courage of President GEJ to make this move with the Russians, albeit it's late after 20 years, it's not too late.
Anything that'll bring this monster bh down before the elections, even better this year, is fine by me.
We can deal with the diplomatic differences later.

America is currently waging diplomatic and economic warfare on Russia, Venezuala, Syria, Brazil and Nigeria.

How do we reconcile the sudden fall in crude pricing in the wake of a diplomatic row between Russia and the US? The answer is simply that this oil crash is coming conveniently on the heels of failed sanction by the west on Russia.

The sanctions did not do much to Russian economy and the Kremlin even sealed a $70 billion dollar gas pipeline deal to supply China.

Putin rather than suck up to NATO demands on Ukraine decided to diversify Russia's energy market into China.

The only solution left for the white house is to crash oil prices in their stock markets ( London and new York).

You have to understand that this is really no great feat by Washington since crude is priced in their markets and their currency the dollar. It is also no biggie for the US also because most of the multinational oil companies drilling all over the planet other than in Russia and China are American owned.

Gaddafi and Chavez were taken out because they wanted to price their own oil on their own terms in another currency other than the dollar. While Gaddafi wanted gold, Chavez wanted a new international currency to be floated. The latter being the origin of BRIC Nations whose sole aim is to float another international currency other than the US dollar.

Unfortunately, Nigeria is so dependent on the trappings of a US controlled energy market that we have become dependent and wary of America's economic warfare. Being dependent on crude does not help us but rather puts us dependent and an unwilling ally to Washington.

Take for example the issue of America blocking arm shipments to help fight the insurgency in the north. Normally, the average man on the streets will simply suggest we look to Russia but it is much more complicated than that.
America can threaten to withdraw existing economic aid, implement travel restrictions, restrict direct investment and patronage in our economy and use the World Bank, IMF and other international banks to further devalue our currency.

This is why in a desperate move, the FG covertly went shopping in south Africa. The Americans found out and used Zuma aids to further disgrace and frustrate this administration.

We all need to wake up and know who our real enemies are.

It is more complicated than just suggesting we look for another arms supplier.

Over the years, the US has made us dependent on them for our military hardware and all this is tied to oil.

If you may recall Britain and the US were allies to the FG during Biafra and the fallout of this is that we have become entangled in their foreign policy and military dependence.

There are certain gains that we have to forfeit out rightly with the US. Take for example, the Nigerian navy has very close ties with that of the US navy, the air force also has strong ties with the RAF. Nigerian Army has traditional had strong ties with Pakistan starting from the Shagari era but Pakistan can not sell us stuff they don't have and if they did you can bet the US will block it.

You are right indeed.

Especially the part about having to forfeit some gains. It's not that easy but it should be a sacrifice and forward looking nation must make. To become self sufficient and less dependent is not easy.

Nigeria, I believe have the capacity to start producing it's own weapons. As I am sure you already know...see the ingenuity and creativity of the Biafrans during the civil war? The Biafrans locally made bombs and also locally refined oil. We need that type of spirit.

Why are Nigeirans complaining about American's refusal to sell weapons. NOT BY FORCE.

By the way, why should the US sell its state of the Art weapons to Nigeria, when Nigerian troops always abandon and retreat during battles leaving behind weapons.

They is nothing to rejoice about Nigeria asking Russia for weapons, ALL the AK 47 Nigerian soliders and police carry are from Russia.

PLS STOP HATING ON AMERICA, THEY ARE NOT REPONSIBLE FOR YOUR TROUBLES EXCEPT NIGERIA ITSELF
