Any governor can build a stadium and the governor does not need brains to do so. All the governor needs to do is just to award the contract and in fact the smart governor can award the building project to his or her proxies and make billions of naira or make money from the kickbacks and smile all the way to the bank.
To me both corrupt public officers, robbers, fraudsters and other criminals and their banks keeping their loots are partners in crime.
I don't know how someone we all know when he went to the University of Port Harcourt, graduated and started working and has never been a business man could suddenly be worth more than US$10 million as a public servant?
Or another one renovates airports and suddenly becomes a billionaire?
Yet another public officer invests over US$30 million on a new newspaper?
The so called Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) are busy chasing after shadows while the real crooks and rogues are sharing their loots and fooling the masses with their government building projects they are celebrating as wonders of the world and the EFCC and ICPC and other authorized government agencies are not asking for the audit of these projects. They are dining and wining with them and collecting their own shares of the national cake while the poor maases scramble for the crumbs and waiting to form queues to vote for them again in the next elections in 2015.
The masses must be zombies and many of them are here among us on Nairaland ready to post their stupid comments. Products of mass failures, repeated classes and inferiority complexes.

Encomium for a thief. Only in Nigeria. I am in support of the stadium,, it can earn Akwa Ibom major $$$$s for a long time but it should still come up for probe in the future. Nigerians require more intellectual depth in assessing politicians.
