BusinessRe: What Business Can I Do With 1 Million? by 1Alex: 2:31pm On Jan 12
lavylilly:
I’ll be very honest with you, because ₦1 million can work, but only if we are realistic and strategic.

First, let’s set the truth clearly 👇

Can ₦1m give ₦80k monthly profit consistently?

Yes — but not with “set-and-forget” investments in Nigeria today.
Anything that promises guaranteed passive ₦80k is either:

High risk

Short-lived

Or outright scam

What does work is low-volatility, essential-demand businesses or hybrid models (part business, part investment).

I’ll give you OPTIONS THAT SURVIVE:

Rainy or dry season

Political wahala

Government policy swings

Inflation

And I’ll tell you which ones actually hit ₦80k/month and how long it takes.

---

OPTION 1: Mini Food Supply Business (MOST RELIABLE)

What it is:
Supplying food items that people MUST buy weekly, regardless of economy.

Examples

Rice (local + imported mix)

Beans

Garri

Palm oil

Groundnut oil

Capital Breakdown (₦1m)

Inventory: ₦800k

Transport/logistics: ₦100k

Buffer/cash flow: ₦100k

How you make money

5–8% margin per turnover

2–3 turnovers per month

Monthly Profit

Conservative: ₦60k

Realistic: ₦80k–₦120k

Why this survives anything

People eat no matter who is president

No licensing wahala

Inflation actually helps margins if you restock fast

⚠️ Rule: DO NOT retail. Supply retailers.
Retailing will stress you.

---

OPTION 2: POS + Bill Payment Hub (Still Works If Done Right)

Not the roadside POS that struggles — I mean strategic placement.

Setup Cost

POS machine + float: ₦600k–₦800k

Small kiosk/space: ₦100k

Backup cash: ₦100k

Daily Profit Target

₦3k–₦5k net

Monthly

₦90k–₦120k

Why it’s stable

Cash scarcity keeps POS alive

Politics doesn’t kill it

Works rain or sun

⚠️ Avoid overcrowded POS streets.
Put it near:

Markets

Bus stops

Schools

Estates with poor ATM access

---

OPTION 3: Phone Accessories + Repairs (Recession-Proof)

People may not buy new phones, but they repair and protect old ones.

What to sell

Screen protectors

Chargers

Power banks

Earphones

Phone repairs (partner with a tech if you can’t fix)

Capital Use

Inventory: ₦700k

Simple shop/kiosk: ₦200k

Working cash: ₦100k

Monthly Profit

₦70k–₦120k

Why it survives

Phones are now “life tools”

Replacement beats upgrade during hardship

---

OPTION 4: Transport-Linked Business (Not Owning a Car)

Instead of buying a car, control movement.

Example

Partner with dispatch riders

You fund bikes/logistics

Take fixed daily remittance

Setup

₦1m = 1 bike + working capital

Rider remits ₦2k–₦3k/day

Monthly

₦60k–₦90k

⚠️ Requires rider vetting and tracking discipline.

---

OPTION 5: Hybrid Investment (Lower Stress, Slower Start)

If you want less physical stress:

Structure

₦600k → high-interest savings / treasury-backed products

₦400k → small trading (food or POS)

Result

Investment interest: ₦20k–₦30k

Business profit: ₦50k–₦70k

Total: ₦80k+

This is how smart people sleep better.

---

What I Would NOT Recommend

❌ Pure crypto
❌ Forex “account managers”
❌ Agriculture without direct control
❌ Betting-related businesses
❌ Anything depending on government contracts

---

The Most Important Question (Answer Honestly)

To guide you properly, I need to know:

1. Which state/city are you in? (markets differ)

2. Do you want:

Hands-on business

Semi-passive

3. Are you okay managing people, or do you prefer systems?

Reply with these 3 answers and I’ll give you ONE exact plan, step-by-step, using your ₦1m — no theory.

You’re not late. You just need a stable base now.

PoliticsRe: Why Can't We Celebrate Tinubu's 20% Tax? Is It Because Of Tribe? by 1Alex: 3:44am On Jan 10
So this guy woke up, rubbed two brain cells together and said:

“More tax = more IGR = good governance.”

Oga, by that logic, area boys are financial experts because their daily revenue is consistent.

You think governance is a POS machine?
Just keep charging people and printing receipts?

Nigeria is on life support, people are struggling to buy garri, and your solution is:

“Let’s add 20% tax.”

That’s not policy, that’s premium wickedness.

This is like your landlord doubling rent while the roof is leaking and saying:
“Ah, see revenue growth.”

Bro, fix the roof first, not your pocket.

IGR without:

Stable light

Affordable food

Working hospitals

Decent roads

Jobs that pay

…is just advanced extortion.

And the wildest part?
You think Nigerians will vote for more suffering because the government’s account balance looks cute?

My guy, Nigerians don’t eat IGR.
We eat rice, not revenue.

Tinubu doesn’t need higher IGR for a second term.
He needs to make life less mad.

Because right now:

The naira is doing backflips

Fuel prices are in the gym

Food costs more than dignity

And hope is on airplane mode

But you’re shouting “IGR up!”
Up where? Heaven?

This take sounds like someone who:

Doesn’t buy food

Doesn’t pay bills

Doesn’t feel inflation

And probably thinks ₦5k is still “small money”

If suffering was a sport, this comment would be the team captain.

So please, next time you want to talk governance, don’t use: Calculator logic + emotional blindness.

Because Nigerians are tired, broke, and angry,
Not impressed by spreadsheet flexing.

I can’t even pay the half of that price for this property. You must be one of those evil agents terrorising Nigerians with their greediness.
apart from the price, look at the location sef. Surrounded by bush, it looks like bandits pay them visits every now and then. That's the reason for the sale.
PoliticsRe: No Tax If You Are Earning Below ₦800k Annually by 1Alex: 6:09am On Jan 02
helinues:
There have been so many misleading information about the new tax law.

If you are earning below N800k, you won't be taxed and if your earnings fall above N1m which is the first tax rate formula, N800k from your N1m is tax free, the charges on the tax will be on the extra N200k
a whole you dey post this? 800k is per annum. Now divide 800k by 12 months and see that it is only for people who earn ₦67k and below, a month.
PoliticsRe: List Of What Tinubu Has Done In 3 Years - Akingangan by 1Alex: 5:32am On Jan 02
1. Fuel subsidy removal / FX unification.

Impact is muted because prices jumped faster than incomes. Inflation wiped out any efficiency gains.

2. Higher government revenue.

More revenue did not translate to better services. Leakages, debt servicing, and recurrent spending absorbed it.

3. Reduced fiscal deficit.

The reduction came from cutting spending, not productivity. Citizens feel austerity, not discipline.

4. Higher foreign reserves.

Reserves did not stabilize the naira. FX scarcity and inflation continued, so daily life did not improve.

5. Trade surpluses.

Surpluses were driven by import compression, not export growth. People bought less because they were poorer.

6. Growth in non-oil exports.

Percentage growth looks good, but volumes remain small. It has little effect on jobs or income.

7. Stock Exchange gains.

Stock market growth benefits a tiny elite. Most Nigerians do not own shares.

8. Credit rating upgrades.

Ratings help foreign investors, not households. Borrowing costs inside Nigeria stayed high.

9. GDP growth projections.

Growth is not inclusive. Population growth and inflation cancel out any gains.

10. NELFUND education loans.

Loans create debt, not access. Many students still can’t afford fees or living costs.

11. Grants and loans to 900,000 people.

Spread thin across a huge population. No measurable reduction in unemployment.

12. ₦70,000 minimum wage.

Inflation eroded it before implementation. FG itself and some private firms are not paying.

13. ₦80bn for federal unity schools.

Only affects a small group. Public schools nationwide remain underfunded.

14. Reopening federal unity schools.

Reopening is not reform. Quality, safety, and staffing issues persist.

15. Almajiri learning centers.

Coverage is tiny compared to the scale of the problem. Many centers lack teachers and funding.

16. National Almajiri policy.

Policy without enforcement. Structural poverty remains untouched.

17. Re-establishing almajiri schools.

Numbers are overstated. Retention and learning outcomes are poor.

18. New leadership commission.

Leadership change alone does nothing without funding and authority.

19. Comprehensive almajiri reforms.

Mostly donor-driven pilots. No nationwide, sustained impact yet.

20. Major highway projects.

Slow execution and cost overruns. Travel costs remain high.

21. ₦2 trillion road investment.

Jobs are temporary. Poor maintenance reduces long-term value.

22. Port and rail modernization.

Logistics costs are still high. Congestion and inefficiency remain.

23. Electricity Act 2023.

Power supply did not improve for most homes. Tariffs rose without reliability.

24. Diaspora mortgage scheme.

Targets Nigerians abroad, not residents. Housing shortage remains.

25. Diaspora housing platform.

Platform access does not equal affordability. Prices stay out of reach.

26. Renewed Hope Housing Programme.

Housing supply added is negligible relative to demand.

27. 3,500 housing units in Abuja.

Symbolic, not transformative. Millions still lack housing.

28. Killing terrorists.

Insecurity persists. Farming, travel, and investment remain risky.

29. CNG transport programme.

Limited infrastructure. Transport fares still rose.

30. Consumer credit schemes.

Credit without income stability worsens household debt.

31. Agricultural funds / rice output.

Food prices kept rising. Farmers face insecurity and input costs.

32. Cash transfers and subsidies.

Amounts are too small and inconsistent to reduce poverty.

33. Super Falcons rewards.

One-off gestures. No structural support for sports development.

34. Falcons technical crew rewards.

Recognition is fine, but it does not improve sports systems.

35. D’Tigress player rewards.

Symbolic. Women’s sports funding remains weak.

36. D’Tigress coaching staff rewards.

Short-term morale boost, no institutional reform.

37. Using rewards to inspire youth.

Inspiration without opportunity changes little.

38. Increased oil production.

Oil revenue gains were offset by subsidy removal and inflation.

39. Digital ID enrollment.

Enrollment rose, but service delivery did not improve.

40. Old national anthem.

Purely symbolic. No economic or social impact.

Bottom line

Most items are technically true but economically shallow. They look good on paper, yet fail because inflation, insecurity, weak institutions, and poverty cancel out their impact.

From your response, you are just being clearly sarcastic. I did not ask for your opinion. If you cannot meet my request, you should quietly ignore it, not coming here to spit trash.
I know you want to use the vehicle for commercial purposes. It is very lucrative in the long run. If you have a valid driver's licence, go to the park of the route you want to ply and register your interest in becoming a driver. You maybe asked to bring a suretee. Then the company or in most cases, a driver with the company can give you a vehicle or link you up with someone you will.

Start driving, save money aggressively then buy your own.

Long distance route like Lagos to Abuja or Lagos to Port Harcourt etc is very very lucrative if you drive your vehicle by yourself. You can make up to 1mill in a month.
