What I have accomplished in ehailing in 5yrs, I couldn't do it if I stayed in my paid employment for 10yrs... If pay is good why not, but anything less than what am currently earning, I rather continue my driving and have peace of mind, flexibility and freedom. I can't go and sit in an office and month end u pay me 100k or 150k or even 200k when I can make that in weeks. But las las all man for himself sha. ndubuisi2021: All these your narration that fetched you 5k doesn't sound so sweet in my ears. It shows that for one to make 5k on ehailing, you must peel your legs.
I was buying roofing sheets the other day at Bogije, Ibeju Lekki area. Men, those guys with their rickety trucks netted close to 30k the few hours I spent there observing them carrying bought roofing sheets for people. I was billed 9k with abeg to drop my roofing sheets at Sangotedo, a journey of less than 15km. It made me wonder how notoriously stressful Uber and Bolt can be before one can earn reasonably. It made me concluded that it's really not worth it if I have to run around like a rabbit round Lagos to earn money while an artisan will be in one place a day and earn three times more in a more defined way.
I think it's better sometimes, to put the stress level and many other things in perspective when talking about earnings. This hustle is crazy and weird in many ways. No man deserves to be in it for the long haul no matter how much you earn. Take what you can take from it, have concrete plans as you are in it and leave it for good. you have spoken my mind. I met the man that introduced me to ehailing last week. The guy had driven for about 3yrs before I joined. He told me his health is at risk. He's totally lost libido for sex, his left leg's knee and ankle joint is bad that he can't drive anymore. Set your target , meet it and move on. A word they say is enough for the wise |

IFSHR: You have the money to buy the car You have decided to drive the car yourself
Soft work.....you will net 150k per month (At the moment easily) net of fuel and commission only.
Hard work ... You will net 230k per month (at the moment ) net of fuel and commission only.
The ball is in your court sir to make the final cut
But then it's not as rosy as my above statement .... So many downbeat comes with this hustle
Car issues (controllable)
Road referees (lastman, police,CBD etc) (manageable but you will fall victim to learn your lessons once or twice)
Riders wahala (manageable )

Pearl1910: I already said this is not an advise. I had a Chevrolet Aveo about 10 yrs ago, no issues. The only info I and people on this thread need from u is to say the problems u know the car has. For the last time, don't buy a manual car for ehailing in Lagos. This is not an advise ok boss, let's agree to disagree. Peace |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by 1daboi: 2:59pm On Mar 11, 2021 |
Pearl1910: What are the problems of Aveo abeg...Every car has its own comma, but overall, Chevrolet Aveo is a good fuel economical car.
For the purpose of ehailing in this Lagos, Auto Chevrolet Aveo is better than Manual Honda Civic. I repeat, avoid anything manual for ehailing. If its rentals, u can try and see, if it doesnt favour u, u drop d car. But to carry ur hard earned money to go and buy a manual car for the purpose of ehailing? It will only end in tears. Premium tears. This is not an advise. becareful of the advise you give. Have you used Chevrolet before? For your info, I have 3 chevys on this hustle and non is an Aveo. Do not lead this guy to destruction. I rest my case. N:B, I don't want to comment on the transmission thing because it's been over flogged here already. Peace |

deedee44: Yes they will work, for a limited time because the car has to sources of power. The battery and the engine, to the best of my knowledge, the engine is the main source while the battery is the backup. If electrical operations are solely on the battery as you claimed, how come they still work when you remove the battery while the engine is running? The bolded only proved the engine doesn't depend on the alternator and not the other way round which is what you intended to prove @ the bolded, they work because the alternator is rolling and giving them energy. Please note that THE ALTERNATOR IS AS FREE AS Bleep! IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY STRESS TO THE ENGINE!!!! |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by 1daboi: 9:21pm On Mar 02, 2021 |
deedee44: Yeah you made sense. But the battery also hets that energy from somewhere.. the alternator, which draws power from the engine lol. No be my work sha so I may be wrong there are 2 energies in every car. 1. Electrical energy 2. Mechanical energy. Your battery is just an (electrical)energy bank. When you are waiting for a trip, listening to good music and your engine is switched off, you are spending some energy from your energy bank(battery). As soon as radautoworks requests you, you start your engine(mechanical) and your alternator refills the (electrical) energy you spent waiting listening to radio while waiting. Then you turn on your ac, more (mehanical) load and the fuel is what the mechanical energy spends. I need a lecturing job |

deedee44: Everything you use in the car that is powered by the car consumes fuel in the end, it may be so little that you won't notice but it doesn't mean it doesn't cost extra fuel. From your headlamps to your wiper down to rolling up and down the windows. Even your car stereo or that extra baggage in the booth. The electrical parts draw power from the alternator which in turn draws power from the engine. common dude, all these you mentioned here can work when you engine is turned off! They are electricals. They are powered by your battery! Gosh!!! N:b, your battery is charged by your alternator. Your alternator doesn't add any load to your engine at all. That's why your car can start even without a serpentine belt that turns the alternator. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by 1daboi: 8:54pm On Mar 02, 2021 |
deedee44: Yes it does. If you have used a tiger generator (I pass my neighbor) before you will know what I'm talking about actually, increasing the fan doesn't give load to the engine. Reason is because fan is electrical. Meaning it's runs on the energy on the battery. But when you turn your ac on, there's a magnet that attracts the compressor plate, causing the internal components of the compressor to start pumping gas. Thereby causing the engine to do more work. The fan is part of hvac under the dashboard. It's controlled by electric current. While Compressor magnetic force puts more load on your engine. I hope I made sense. Drops mic |

xrayj: 2021 u are still like this?? When last did u ride a manual car?? Cars are made for specific purpose, if car manufacturers are creating manual gear for certain types of vehicle it obviously mean the system still requires manual system to function well, not because manual is better auto! Same way they are still using certain brake system for large trucks, not because it is better! Automatic is an advancement of manual gear & will always be better! Oga, manual cars are not that stressful . Some people still prefer manual cars. It's just a matter of choice. Ask yourself, why are they still making it ? |
