1.Cletus Ibeto (Net worth – $3.7 billion)
Born in Nnewi, Cletus Ibeto is the head of The Ibeto Group which is the largest business enterprise from Nnewi. An astute businessman, he witnessed growth in the early 1980s following the oil crash and has since come a long way from when he started out as a spare parts import dealer. He received the national honour of Order of the Officer of the Niger (OON) from the federal government in 2008 while in 2012 he was awarded the honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger [CON], for his continued outstanding service to the nation.
2.Benedict Peters (Net worth – $2.7 billion)
An oil magnate, his Aiteo group is one of the fastest growing local players in Nigeria’s upstream and downstream oil sectors.A graduate of Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Benin. Mr. Peters has over 14 years of strategic experience in energy trading, commodity trading and banking. Six of his seven years in energy trading were in senior and top executive positions where he gained invaluable industry knowledge serving at top Nigerian energy trading companies that include Ocean and Oil Limited, MRS Oil and Gas (Managing Director) and OUR GROUP (Group Vice President).
3.Tony Elumelu (Net worth – $1.6 billion)
Born on 22 March 1963, Tony Elumelu is the founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation, an African-based and funded non-for-profit organization that promotes and celebrates excellence in business leaderfship and entrepreneurship across Africa. A serial investor, Tony is a serial investor and the chairman of UBA Group, one of Africa’s most successful banks; Heirs Holdings, a pan-African investment company; and Transnational Corporation (TRANSCORP Plc). He was recently named as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Africa by New African magazine and has the national honour of the Commander of the Order of Nigeria (CON) to his name.
4.Akanimo Udofia (Net worth – $1 billion)
Akanimo Asuquo Udofia also known as “Akan Udofia” is a Nigerian business magnate and philanthropist . His chain of businesses spans various sectors of Nigerian economy, with interests in engineering, construction, oil and gas, and maritime.
