Religiously, marriage is a respectable
institution ordained by God where a man
will
leave his parents and siblings and clinch to
his wife for procreation. Based on this
definition of marriage, AGE is just a number
cos AGE does not have any place here. It is
just an agreement between man and woman
to live together and produce kids.
Socially, " AGE BEING A NUMBER" is a
practical saying in white man's country. It is
practicable cos of their belief and
environment. To them marriage is defined
according to rules and regulations, each
participant knows his or her role as a
person.
There are so much respect and regard for
women which cancelled the old saying that
women are the weaker sex. To me it is an
acceptable and practicable phenomenone
based on their culture. Unlike Africa in
which
most marriages of older sex is targeted on
INFLUENCE , eg financial and otherwise. The
man must have attended some level of
financial height which attracts the young
girl.
Our men also believe in "a man is a
stronger
sex", no matter the age of a man, he can
still
satisfies a woman sexually while a woman
is
believed to be occupied with family
activities
which do not give enough room for sexual
desire (african mentality) but to me these
ladies get intimidated by culture cos the
same
desire goes to them too. Most of the times
it
does not work out the way it started. The
younger, most times feel CAGED and always
see the need for freedom.
In african settings, POVERTY LEVEL
determines 90% older marriages. I'm not
saying that individual feelings should not be
respected. In Africa, most young girls that
go
into marrying older men end up in regret.
When they must have attended the financial
satisfaction, they now see the other aspects
of
life that money cannot take care of.
Furthermore, our younger men that travel
overseas to marry older ladies most times
feel
like killing their wives just to inherit the
wealth.
Marriage should be unconditional, every
conditional marriages end up in REGRET. I
strongly believe in AGE MATE MARRIAGES,
firstly, nature must obey necessity. What i
mean by AGE MATE MARRIAGE not
necessarily, you must be of the same age
BUT
atleast the GAP DIFFERENT must be of
some
limits. The SEXUAL LIFE of human being is
HIGHLY determined by AGE. Thus, the much
GAP in AGE may lead one party to
temptation.
What prompted this write-up is that most
posts go thus.
(1) I'm 18 and fall in love
to a man of 45 or 50 pls advice me is AGE
a
barrier
(2) I'm 30 i fell in love to a boy of 20,
pls can i marry him. Responses are always
FOLLOW YOUR HEART, AGE IS JUST A
NUMBER. My dear, quite sure AGE IS A
NUMBER but the GAP DIFFERENCES matter
alot. It sometimes ends up in REGRET
especially when it comes to SEXUAL
ABILITIES
as you progress in AGE, and which may
eventually leads to INFIDELITY .

Yes, its just a number. My opinion though.
There are a lot of other serious problem to deal with and age sometimes isnt one of them, although we cant entirely rule it out but it all depends on the individuals involved.
Everyone should love who they want however it pleases them and not living your life for society cos society wont help you when you need him, you alone can help yourself.
Can you always please society (humans)? I guess not.
