PDP is a funny party..so they are telling nigerian military officers that they are illiterate??!! There are american presidents that are once military officers. So PDP is trying to relegate our officers.those that protect Nigeria with their lives.in other word they don't have pride in the military. Country like US and UK have pride in their military

Thank God it's not a sin to be a semi-illiterate,neither does it preclude one from being a good leader. Our leaders need not define GMB to us,mostly to me-i was fortunate to be alive while he was the nation's military Head of State.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton, the former US Secretary of State in separate events in New York City said the Nigerian government under President Goodluck Jonathan, squandered its oil resources, and indirectly helps corruption to fester in the troubled country.

Legislators on Capitol Hill have also called for the United States to do more to help the Nigerian government.

Clinton also blasted wider decisions made by the Nigerian government during the public interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

“Nigeria has made bad choices, not hard choices” Clinton said, parroting the name of her forthcoming memoir.

“They have squandered their oil wealth, they have allowed corruption to fester and now they are losing control of parts of their territory because they wouldn’t make hard choices.”

In late April, heavily armed Islamic militants stormed a girl’s dormitory at the Government Girls Secondary School in the Nigerian town of Chibok. Upwards of 270 students were kidnapped and days later, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said in a video statement that he planned to sell them into slavery. More than 50 got away and the remaining are the subject of the search.

The kidnappings quickly gained international attention by using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. The hashtag has been used to update people on the state of the search, but also to criticize the Nigerian government for their handling of the kidnapping.

The Nigerian government has defend its handling of the matter.

The former secretory of state strengthened her criticism of the Nigerian government later in the night at the International Crisis Group’s annual award dinner.

“The Nigerian government has failed to confront the threat or to address the underlying challenges,” Clinton said of the kidnappings. “Most of all, the government of Nigeria needs to get serious about protecting all of its citizens… and ensuring the every child has the right and opportunity to go to school.”

Standing in front of high profile financiers and donors at the opulent Waldorf Astoria, Clinton went on to urge Nigerian citizens to hold their leaders accountable and implored religious leaders, Nigeria’s neighbors, the African Union and the international community to continue to stay involved in finding the schoolgirls.

“Every asset and expertise should be brought to bear,” Clinton said. “Everyone needs to see this for what it is, it is a gross human rights abuse but it is also part of a continuing struggle within Nigeria and within North Africa.”

In addition to addressing the situation in Nigeria, Clinton used much of her speech to discuss her record at state and particularly highlighted her work in opening the government of Burma. Republicans have criticized Clinton for what they say is a lack of notable accomplishments as America’s top diplomat.

While Wednesday’s comments were Clinton’s first statements about the kidnappings, the former first lady has joined in on the social media campaign, too.

Clinton has joined in on the social media campaign, too.

“Access to education is a basic right & an unconscionable reason to target innocent girls. We must stand up to terrorism. #BringBackOurGirls,” she tweeted on May 4.

YOU ONLY ASK THAT QUESTION BECAUSE , YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO DONT READ AND ONLY DRIVEN BY NEGATIVE NEWS OF THIS REGIME BY APC MEDIA , EVERY REGIME HAS ITS NEGATIVES , BUT SAYING GEJ HAS DONE NOTHING SHOWS YOU RE BLIND

Just got this and i feel its worth sharing as we continue to
search our consignee on who will lead this nation come
2015 Obasanjo said ''Everything I left in NEPA in 1979 in
equipment are the same thing I met when I came back in
1999, no overhauling and no upgrading'' OBJ ended with
spending over $20b to revitalize PHCN, even changing
the name from NEPA to PHCN, outsourcing etc, nothing
happened, no hope, no growth, no future Now GEJ came
and started fixing things, he discovered the enormous
investment involved, the monopoly and Government
incompetency in managing this, wastefulness that has
been the order of the day, avenue to loot and waste, a
perfect drain pipe, he decided to privatise and allow
professional and private companies to run what they
should have ran a long time ago, people started
complaining. APC changed the slogan to PDP
government, most of them were in the same government
then. Inter state transportation that has been moribund,
killed by past leaders including Buhari, GEJ came, and
decided that cost of good and services can reduce and
movement becomes faster, he embarked and revatalised
the Railways, signed contracts on PPP basis and today,
we have things happening in that sector, and guess what,
the same silent people who never complained before
started complaining Nigeria has been wasting money on
capital flight importing automobiles, empowering foreign
companies and denying ourselves, cheap means of
movement, and employment, Kaduna PAN went dead,
no one complained, no one pointed it out, GEJ came, he
introduced the policy and prices of automobiles went up,
investors have no option but to come, today, we have
many assembly plants, including our Local ones.,
Rememebr that Volkswagen, PAN, Anamco were dead,
today, it has started, the future looks good, and
employment will start. Still people complain No past
president was able to attract investors into the country, i
cant begin to explain what will happen in the next two
years when IPP's finishes their power infrastructures,
when Rail will be perfected across states, when all
investors like GE etc, must have finished building their
plants, when Automobile companies must have finished
their assembling plants, when the federal roads must
have been completed, when Refineries must have been
sold, when Dangote's Refinery must have started
operation, etc, employment, stability and sustainable
economy, etc. with the current politically orchestrated
insecurity, still investors keep coming, because the
believe in the new Nigeria, and many are still
complaining. what GEJ is instituting is independence
from government, entrepreneurship, innovations, etc,
something that developed countries live on, this is why
the western world is fighting him. Check out agriculture,
check out the new push into other natural resources,
over dependency in Oil is about to dwindle. Its a matter
of time. To have a solid foundation, u must demolish the
building and rebuild, not the same patch patch. U dont
have to borrow money to fund economy or fund Forex
as people complain. Its just a matter of time. I cant
support truncation of this innovation and
transformation, I still refuse to be a pawn and deceived
Past Presidents wrecked this country and our system/
economy, we are rebuilding. Be part of it, not truncate it
Change is happening, not change of Government, but
change in the economy, system and how things are done
before. we dont want "painted sepulcher", we want
realistic sustainability

All this thrash and not one single like? SHAME!

True.

By 2015, it will be 42 years Buhari started active service and never found it important to get a formal education yet he wants to rule a progessively educated Nigeria.

The reason is simple......Boko is haram (Education is forbidden).

For anybody still in doubt if Buhari has ties with Bokoharam. There lies your answer.... their policies are totally aligned.
I can bet with anything dat YOUR FATHER does not have a primary school leaving certificate, yet Buhari is older than him. cool

What level of intelligence has Jonathan shown to be a better educated man than GMB?or is it by acquiring a doctorate degree that one's level of intelligence does not concur with?Governance is not about being a professor or an educationist but it is for you to be a man of your words, make promises to the electorates and fulfill your promises. If GMB is semi literate, then how would PDP describe our first lady,"na only you waka come" what a shame!

BTW; its not all about hatred but he's tried his best. We luv Him & wish him well. At least he still has a chance 2 return maybe in 2023 or thereabout 2 come continue on a solid foundation already laid by a more competent hand.

By all academic and military standards, Buhari’s education is superb and the best any general can get in the world. Therefore, for pdp to claim Buhari is semi-illiterate speaks volumes about his understanding of what education is even all about. They think education is about earning paper degrees only, and even if it was the case, Buhari has them from the most respected military institutions in the world.

Time is up for Oluku Odeku kind of army leadership..

If Buhari was a fine gentleman like Ihejirika, past chief of army staff, no one will refer to him as illiterate..

His time has passed, let Buhari go and rest like his successors IBB, Abacha and Obasanjo. Some people no get shame...
