Hello all, couldn't sleep,,something has been on my mind.

What is your take about other people other than yourself or spouse giving your child a kiss,,,whether on the lips or cheeks,,and when i say child i mean your 3 year old and below,,,,

I don't know if am being overly paranoid but by God i hate it so much and can not fathom why people do such,,,,,,,,i am so planning to start telling people outright - NO KISSING - i don't know if that is wrong though.

Hubby's friend came earlier and my cutie out-rightly refused to go to him and say hello,,,fine by me,,,,,,,when she finally agreed, the "Goat (forgive me please am so annoyed) decided to plant a peck on her lips,,i was so mad and hubby knew so he just carried my child from the idiot. Yes i said idiot cos i think in this age and time, he should know better.

Please,i personally need advise on what to do cos my person doesn't agree with this at all,,,,,,,by the way,,,myself and hubby gives kisses and hugs alot to my little one and i don't want her thinking it's alright for any kangaroo to do so,,

So,,,should we stop with the kissing and simply say NO when she tries to kiss us?
How do i tell people politely not to do so again if they do it before i can stop the act?
This thing is really making me angry and i need advise please.

undecided... annoyingly disgusting.

saw this online..

this action is not safe, because the adult can transmit an infection to his child. On the other hand, Sandra Beltran, pediatric infectious disease specialist of the Colombian Association of Infectious Diseases, says, ” Kissing on the lips is a focus transmitters of diseases.” Some of these are cytomegalovirus, viral diseases that are spread through saliva.

pele
. maybe u should educate any adults that tries such.

they might actually be stupid enough to do it without thinking.. forming formal or cultured without any se.xual or abusive intentions.

so u call them to order.. u as mother shouldn't even kiss ur baby on the mouth.

It should be completely discouraged i ve politely told one or two people even a relative to stop kissing my child cos we teaching him that its bad n to report if anyone does it to him so it will be kinda confusing if people kiss him wen we present n we don't say a thing. i totally hate it. a grown man kissing another person's child is just wrong.

That is signs and symptoms of a paedo.na their type go sneak in when you mistakenly forgot to lock the door and left the kid in the house. Don't let me give details of the havoc he will commit on that little girl. lipsrsealed undecided

I don't even tolerate that kain play with my daughter. Fine you can play and do orisirisi I don't mind but when it comes to kissing or carrying your hands into her vagina etc as a man that one is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. If you kiss her I will carry her immediately and go and wash the spot you kissed and then warn the person sternly and firmly that I don't enjoy that kain play abeg undecided

My children only great from a distance. As soon as the interest gets further, I make excuses "she is shy please leave her" or I call an older child too take the child out of the room.
I never allow my kid`s to be with me when visitors come. So it is a quick greeting and out. I have mastered this over the years so friends do not have much contact to them. I also rarely entertain visitors even though I am pretty social.
Re: About Kissing Children,,,,,,,,,, by Chillis: 9:29am On Jan 03, 2015
If you dont feel comfortable then tell your child no kissing anyone except you and hubby. You will be amazed kids are very smart. Dont stop kissing your loved ones. They need the love feom you.

I have no problem with my friends giving a peck to mine, as long as it didnt extend to the lips. Its a form of greeting .

when you have a guest, just tell your little one to say good morning. S/he will stop at that.

Very good advice, a friend or relatives can gave a peck on the cheek instead of the lips. Kissing someone's child on the lips is not proper .

When I was a student, a course mate kissed my baby and that was the last time anyone did till I left school, didn't know when I yelled " my son is not you boy Friend!" in a full class and many other unprintables I vomited in my native dialect, i was almost convulsing with vexation. God knows if she wasn't apologetic, maybe wigs would have been flying across the lecture hall cheesy. she was so embarrassed. When it comes to my kids, i really don't care who gets hurt for me to protect them. Do whatever you think is right to protect your child, the man is a goat, agreed!

A peck on the cheeks is harmless, I guess. But a kiss on the lips is a NO NO.

The guy might have done it innocently though. There are many 'exposed mumus' out there who are not sensitive at all.

Same with touching my children's head. I ll pick them from you sharp sharp. Some folks are not sensitive. Thats all!

Now that's silly.

Even a peck on the cheeks with goodness knows, what sort of cheap lipstick smeared on his cheeks can cause rashes on a child's sensitive skin.

Maybe, maybe not. But I am open-minded about all these stuff. Its better to err on the side of caution. Maybe its the way some of us were brought up.

My mum would never allow anyone touch my head while I was growing up.
Some dont just touch, they rub and then start 'romancing' the head. Something within me reacts each time it happens.

Aha! I knew there'd be certain "exceptions" to the rule.

But yes, I've heard of that superstition too. Thankfully, there's no biggie to it over here.

if I had a son and a grown female does that I will yell at her also if a male does that to my daughter will do same. The point is an opposite gender who os grown shouldn't be doing such. It's sick undecided

Yea,baby Londoner. Lol. Its difficult to discard those 'superstitions' given what the media feed us and what we see around us everyday.

One cannot be totally divorced from the environment they were brought up. I guess thats what sociologists term the 'nurture' phenomenon.

There are just so many occurrences that have no scientific explanations down here.

I guess we are successfully derailing this thread.lol

My toddler loves kissing, she always puckers up for a kiss.
Always doing mmmmmmmmmmmmwahhhhh mostly for me,Dh and her teachers. She's well known in nursery for giving hugs, kisses and cuddles and wanting them.I feel she learnt it by watching her Dad and I.
I'm waiting for her to outgrow it as there really isn't anything I can do at the moment. She hasn't yet grasped stuff we tell her not to do as shes not yet up to 2 years. Some time ago,we were in a hotel and the cleaner came in.My baby went up to her and hugged and kissed her cheek then the lady started crying.I don't know why.

I won't be glad if strangers start trying to kiss her though and i'm waiting eagerly to when she will start understanding us and stops being so tactile cos she's the one who harasses people for hugs and kisses.

She cried because your baby must have touched a chord somewhere in the cleaner. Maybe she's lost a loved one, or maybe she just got overwhelmed with emotions.
