This is a pathetic case I saw in clinic today. The ONLY reason am gonna share this, is just for others to learn, Especially GIRLS !!! Be careful what you do in the name of Love. Don’t just love with your heart, love with your Brain too. I will not disclose any personal information of the patient because that’s against my professional ethics.

Miss T came to the clinic with her mum. She is a young lady of about 19 years old, living with her parent, student, 7 months pregnant, blind in the Right Eye and with some other very complex issues that I felt like weeping for her.
In the beginning she didn’t want to open up until I insisted that I can’t help her until I know what happened to her. At first she said she had hit her Eye against the wall, but being a professional and after detailed eye examination I knew she was lying.

Finally she opened up and it was shocking. She is a student in one of the tertiary institutions. Few months ago she got pregnant for her boyfriend who is also a student. The Guy wanted an abortion but since they both discovered it late, the girl’s parent refused. The guy then told her that he will have nothing to do with her and her baby. That he was no longer in love with her.
Three (3) months ago, her irresponsible beat her up and punched her eye so hard that the eye was bleeding. The painful part is that the parents were not so financially buoyant and therefore couldn’t give her proper treatment. Instead of going to a good Eye clinic or Hospital, they went to buy drugs and Eye drops.

By the time she came today, the Eye has become so bad that it will take extensive surgeries and long term specialist management to give her any hope of saving that Eye. According to the mum, she had to borrow the money she came to clinic with today. When I told her the estimate of the treatment, she broke in tears. I really pity the mom.
I kept wondering why a jobless student should impregnate a young girl, deny the pregnancy and go ahead to beat her up to the extent of giving her a blind eye. WHAT KIND OF STUPID LOVE IS THIS?

Although I didn’t not say this to the mum, but Personally, I would have suggested she get the guy arrested for battering, assault and perhaps sued, until he foot all her medical bills.
Let me know what you guys think cus this is really so sad.

Knowing the condition of her parent, a sensible child would have put her head down to study so she can become a beacon of hope for them.

The say Love is blind...her own has become a reality. The poor irresponsible dude couldn't even take her to the Hosp. Some guys are heartless. He deserve jail.
