kingstylo01: with the preponderant candidate seeking admission yearly with a limited space for 600,000, are u daying building more varsities won't solve this? How many varsities has d government built in ur geopolitical zone? Think bro, government has 99% hand in it. |

LARRYDKING:Am not disproving the fact that gov't has a role to play in this, but gov't role is not as huge as you stated (99% ). What am trying to point out here is that no matter how many versities there is, admission still remains a hot cake because most tertiary institutions especially the varsities are baised in giving admission. They would grant admission based on sentiments rather than merit. Imagine someone having scored above 270 in jamb while the cutoff for the school he applied is 180, he writes post-utme and score exceedingly high above the cutoff, but when admission list is placed he can't find his name, while someone who did not perform good in jamb and did not even sit down to write the post utme will be granted admission.. Will you blame it on the gov't? |

kingstylo01: but i discredit ur claim that d government does nt have a hand in it. do u knw most of these candidates who choose the best courses are dullards who can't us spell their names? Last year, over 8,000 candidates choosed unilag to study MBBS but over 7,500 were rejected. Thou, many would use connections but some of the candidates won't cope if offered d course. And when u ask them, they will always tell stories that favours them. |
