By America's first "black (note this is in quotes )" president, I mean that he was the first american prez to show concern for the black community. He was the first to appreciate blacks for who they were. Even on his first inaugural day, the choir, I believe, was black and the famed Black poet, Maya Angelou gave an oration.It can't get any better than that. Granted Bush has appointed 2 blks to high posts in his time whereas Clinton had a blk secretary, I dare say that if Clinton hadn't set precedent, Bush probably wouldn't have gone as far.
