Buhari had rapid promotion in the army due to his brilliancy. IBB is older than Buhari by a year but Buhari was ahead of IBB and others by two years in the military. Buhari enlisted in 1962 while IBB and his mates enlisted in 1964. In one interview, JT Useni spoke about how brilliant the man (Buhari) was as an officer. Useni spoke about how many of them aspired to be like him when they enlisted in the military in those days. He spoke about

how Buhari was widely known as the most brilliant officer around and many of them looked up to him; even some of them were older than him.

Liar, the old dog failed his senior military examinations, that's why he has no fss, psc or mni to his name.

I hope you will take due note so as not to embarrass yourself further next time.

Again you show how clueless you are about how a democracy works. No wonder sha as you dey do follow follow like person wey get Cow Cloned Brain Syndrome, CCBS behind the former military DICTATOR who said at Mapo Hall, Ibadan in 2011 that he will give us true fiscal federalism as if he will have sole power to change our constitution.
Let us forget for the moment that he did not give us fiscal federalism when he was MAXIMUM ruler for two years angry

Firstly, the legislative is an INDEPENDENT arm of government.
Secondly, can you show us what the almost 50% "opposition" party members of both Houses have done to reduce their salary & allowances that make up this alleged 25% that you have DISTORTED into 75% to fool those who might also be afflicted bvy CCBS like you are shocked

I am very sure you didn't look properly before you quoted that post perhaps you think it was made by your fellow PDP hallelujah boys right?

Vanguard report of 14th January 2015 claim that 5b has been recovered from a scam of 2012?

is it not too much a coincidence that the money was just recovered today at the peak of electioneering?

By the way, the report said that over 40 persons were arrested in connection with the scam, don't they have names?

EFCC claimed that they charged them to court the ones they arrested in 2012, which Nigerian court asked them to release 5b to EFCC today?
abi, the evil people of PDP forgot that Jonathan's court is on strike, lol lol, lol.

You can do better than planting fake news online in cohort with your media dog Vanguard.

over 1 trillion naira scam and EFCC managed to settle for 5b and you are happy? no names of people in jail and you are happy?

Shame on you PDP scum!!

[b]12. BUHARI TODAY & CONCLUSION

Today, the stage is set for a final showdown in 2015 between the old warhorse General Buhari and incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. Buhari is generally perceived as a honest leader capable of stemming the tide of nonsense in Nigeria but some people are afraid and are not really sure if Nigeria will retain its secularity under a Buhari presidency. Some analysts also feel that his base is mainly in the North and he has to do his homework well in penetrating the south if he is to win. As for the other camp of GEJ, whether the Sun likes, it can rise in the west and set in the east, Jonathan will still win. They count on various factors like his achievements while others harp on his power of incumbency and others. But whatever will happen, I have just one prayer: may the Federal Republic of Nigeria survive 2015 and beyond -onto greater heights.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.

I am under the assumption that Buhari would deliver as expected if he won the election however it is not a solution to Nigeria's problem because the Nigerian populace is not ready. It is ignorant of the power it sways, its liberties, rights and freedoms; drawing this from the previous and existing issues in the country that should have ignited the populace to call for effective action, to demand what is theirs but which unfortunately they were so complacent about, which they have decided to accept it as their fates and just simply moved on. The populace is too complacent about its welfare, it has not shown any considerable effort to make its social, economic and political state better despite its vast human and natural resources. Therefore, I believe it will be foolhardy to hand them the minutest of these on a platter of gold, it would too cheap and as a consequence it wouldn't take long before it is abused again. If we cannot come together as one to support or advocate for better candidates other than the clueless and desperado aspirants we have got, then we are simply not ready for change.

They were course mates but that doesn't mean they were equal in rank. If you check records, Buhari was commissioned ahead of some of his peers. I know for sure Buhari was ahead of IBB, Abacha, Vatsa, Useni in rank having been commissioned ahead of them. Having four star general in one military unit doesn't make all of them equal in leadership and experience.

You are right in saying four star generals in one unit are not necessary equal in seniority. However in Buhari's case he may have been 'senior' in Army hierarchy to IBB and Abacha by being a GOC before the 1983 coup and IBB being a staff officer at AHQ and Abacha being a brigade comnander.

If they were coursemates it's more than likely they were commissioned around the same time. As to rank equality, Yar'Adua was promoted ahead of his coursemates after his elevation to Chief of Staff SHQ, IBB Buhari Vatsa Jega and Waziri were promoted around the same time to the ranks of Brigadier (1979)and Major General (1983) ahead of Useni Abacha Duba Bako Nasko and Magoro (Brigadier in 1980 for all and Major General in 1984 for Nasko Magoro and Abacha and1987 for Duba Sami and Duba) . Check the NIPSS Alumni pages as they were all Brigadiers as part of NIPSS Courses 1 to 3. Abacha (if his history of promotions I once saw on the Army website is correct) was promoted full Colonel in 1975 before IBB and Buhari (who were Lt Cols as at the time of the Dimka coup in 1976).
