Youth Group Supports Sacking Of Ekiti Assembly Workers, Task Politicians by wnycom: 9:39am On Jan 16, 2015
THE Organization for Youth Betterment and Empowerment (OYBE) has commended the Ekiti State government for sacking inappropriate employees at the state’s house of assembly.

The group said if the employment of the sacked staff was legitimate, general public would be informed of the recruitment process and people would have participated in the exercise.

The group in a statement signed by its Executive Director, Babatunde Oyedele asked politicians to desist from recruiting through back door when employing into government offices.

OYBE said: “The jobs are meant for the general public, but politicians make it available to their party members. Job vacancies should be made public and due process must be followed to recruit the right applicant for jobs.

“Corruption have marred all the areas of government agencies in Nigeria, job recruitment is the future of our youths and corruption should be eradicated in this level, so that we can reduce unemployment in our country and the general public that voted can get jobs.

“We encourage the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose to take appropriate measures when recruiting in the state. There is an important need to fight corruption at all levels and with all means available without minding whose ox is gored.

“Creation of jobs for young people is pivotal to the development of any country. Hence: youths are needed to achieve the aims and objectives set down by his administration,” the group said.

OYBE noted that embezzlement of public funds is not the only form of corruption in Nigeria because people only give the job opportunities created by the government to their relatives or those who paid for the jobs.

“Without putting these people away or setting the measure to address this, the future of our youths is in jeopardy,” the groups stated.

Are this same people you claimed not indigenes of ekiti state .are they not youths?
If you don't no and for the records this people have been working in the house of assembly for over 4 years as temporary staff that were been paid 5,000 naira. When the fayemi govt came in promised to look into their issue.mind you some are with HND,OND,BSc, the then governor increase the pay to 7500. The then govt ask that the bright ,hardworking and qualified ones amongst them be absorb into the civil service. This was done and they were properly employed.now if I may ask are this people not indigenes of the state ,majority are youths.
A lot of youths have lost their employment in this present administration all due to witch hunting .this not good.some of this people voted for him, anyway ekiti deserves what they are getting .
