must a man give a woman an engagement ring before the wedding date is set?

just wondering cox it seems like some lady put high priority on it

is it all that necessary / can't a man just will you marry me with love not with ring

so my question is engagement a must?

It can be so annoying. . . .so I'd suggest you buy her a ring if you're ready to marry her. I love you I love you, ok? I love you too, but where's my ring?

EXACTLY,  If you ask me, its a waste of time and waste of money.   Plus its a known fact that engagement ring is the answer to a break up - yea most people break up after the engagement. c'mon is it worth it to spend 5,000 pounds on a ring. Hell noooooo

I'D say that on a scale of 1-10 I give the importance of the ring itself a 7.5
because it is not only a physical symbol of the love and intention to marry
but also it's seen as a sort of down payment on the wedding and 'symbolizes commitment'.
With or without the rock . . . I'D accept the proposal if it's coming from that man.
It's nice having nice sparkly diamonds to show off tho!

even marriages break up,so wats wt engagement?if a man can break up wt a woman hes spent his whole savings on,then he can as well break up wt his fiancee,pple have spent more than 5000 pounds on engagement rings and 10,000 pounds on wedding ring,but still their marriage did not last
