pls I need your advice. My family friend plans to invite me to Canada for about 4 months - Visiting visa. I stayed with her for over 5 years before she relocated to Canada. She currently has a Job in canada and is also a PR. She said can sponsor me. The problem is we dont think her letter of invitation, her bank statements would be enough to convince them to give me 6months visiting visa. I have no links (not married, no one to sponsor me from Nigeria neither do I have the amount needed for the trip in my account) she plans to plan to pay for the trip and all. So we dont waste money applying for Visa, how best i can be approach this. Your advice would be appreciated please. |

I thought this was addressed yesterday. You may be denied if you state you intend to stay for 4 months stretch. However, the visa validity permits you to stay for up to six months. So i will advise that you plan to stay for at most a month on this first visit. Also note that you need to proof your ties to Nigeria (your business, landed property, job, etc). Youll also need to submit your acct balance too and other necesary docs. The onus is on you to convince the VO with adequate docs. Itsrachel: |

Iyiolapo2010: The travel history was related to her not showing clearly purpose of visit. The officer was concerned about her travel experience reflected by her not including her vacation plan. Secondly we reduced the visit period from 3 months to 3 weeks which is a more realistic plan coupled with introduction letter from employer- showing that her employer are aware and are supportive of her plans. The employer believes she needs the vacation and that it will be beneficial to her state of mind and productivity when she returns. This second application presented a more compelling arguement. 2 Likes |

Hey Zee, I don't know if you have gotten help to this but I just wanted to point out the reason your mum got rejected, I have read on so many thread and of the reasons for refusal is the fact that you stated YOUR MOM IS COMING TO HELP NANNY YOUR BABY. that singular line is the only reason or one of the reasons she got refused. Remember, when you are applying for TRV, esp as someone visiting, YOU MUST NOT WORK , so stating that ,triggered that fact, which means when your mum gets to Canada she will be working as a NANNY. To anybody applying for supervisa, never state in your letter that you are having a baby and your mom will come around to help you with the baby cos then you have to go back to work etc. Disclaimer: I am no immigration expert, it's only through the research done over the months that I have noticed this pattern of rejection. Victory is from God alone! Xplorezee: |

Good day, I’m sorry to disturb you,I did my Canada Biometric on Dec 12th here in Lagos island office,After the whole process I went in for my capture and finger prints... My payment was done online,I have done my Medics which I passed, before going for the biometrics, that day 2 different long slips were given to me,A White and a yellow,I was told to write my email and phone at the back of my colored photocopy international passport. When I went in for the capturing, the white slip was collected from me and yellow slip was given to me,The man who attended to me said if I’m called for my collection I should come with it and the copy photocopy of the colored international passport. Today a friend went for her biometrics and the white long slip was given to her and the yellow one was collected,This got me scared and confused please I need more enlightenment on this. And since I did that biometrics I have not received any calls or Email yet.please ask any question I will be here to answer them all,Thanks Pls ignore any errors I’m typing with fear grin |

Sholaystar4me: Your assertion is not correct as there is nothing wrong in stating that grandma is coming to take care of the new mum and the little one. People state that in their letters and they are granted Visas. She was denied because of something else. Maybe she did not have sufficient funds in her bank account at the time of application to prove that she can take care of both herself, grandma and little one for the number of weeks grandma will be spending with her. 1 Like |

Hi ty, Maybe I didn't put it properly, if she stated in her letter that her mum is coming to Canada to help take care of her baby WHILE SHE GOES BACK TO WORK , this might be a red flag. And again, I might be wrong ty01: |

Sholaystar4me: Actually you are correct but one thing we need understand very well it not only one visa officer looking at numerous application and it does not mean because visa officer A overlook a particular issue officer B will overlook it too ,in canada nanny is classified as work so ur mum Cannot come to canada to take care of your kid taking up the place of nanny but she can come to visit her grandchildren even with a super visa you cannot work. 1 Like |

Inviting you to come for 4 months is a huge red flag. Suggests you don’t have a job in Nigeria are going to hustle if not how many people will leave their busy lives to go stay with a friend for 4 months in another country? Itsrachel: |

ttmacoy:So fine, I would say I plan to stay for 2 weeks, which docs can I and my sponsor provide to ensure or give me a good chance of getting a visa if I say I want to stay to 2 weeks |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by ttmacoy: 11:48pm On Mar 07, 2020 |
Well I f you go on the Canadian embassy website you will see the documents they require but the fact you are unable to sponsor your own trip is still a huge red flag. This seems to be a trend in Nigeria where someone doesn’t have a job or money but is planning a vacation to US or Canada paid for by someone else. As a visa officer my question will be if you only have N20k in your account how logical is it for someone to spend eg N500k on your vacation? If you choose to go ahead provide her financials to show she can afford having you over and a letter from her stating same. Fill out the application and see how it goes. Itsrachel: |

Alutaprophet: It's possible though.... Is this a visa renewal or does the applicant have a valid US visa? |
