The Boko Haram matter is no longer just a Nigerian affair, it is now an international issue.

Yes.
And any country that wants to help MUST seek approval from us else such country is stepping on our sovereignty.

Which kain Sovereignty you dey talk. De one wey Boko Haram don already compromise. You see any nation go ask Syria before dem begin to bomb Kobani?

Sure you're right. But to be a state in the international system, you must have a defined territory, population, government, and sovereignty.

I get your point tho, but no matter what happens in a state, except the government approves of it, no state can interfere. By doing that, you're undermining the Westphalian constitution and policies.

Anyways, I believe terrorism is surely gonna end soon in Nigeria. smiley

lets foget all this sentiment cos what we are suffering is not different from what iraq and Syria is passing through isis...if our neighbors felt the impact and want to help its a welcome development boko haram terroris both countries without approval by any of them so to fight them u shouldn't look for approval. . Or if I may ask how many of those territory in bokos hands is still reciving or govern by nigerian legal systems?

Do you know the meaning of a sovereign nation?

We have stupendously rich generals that won't fight, a rank and file looking for reasons to desert

The most logical thing would have been for the military to disband. That is not possible. But your president and commander in chief can resign or be impeached for incompetence. And not campaigning for re election.

Agreed, but that will not give Chad or any other country the audacity to invade our country in name of fighting bh or don't you know that what they did(if without approval Nigerian authorities) is an invasion?

Is patently illegal and in saner climes with a president that knows his left from his right, enough to spark a diplomatic crisis with even the risk of military confrontation.
How dare u invade another country's airspace talkless of carrying out military operations in it.But a situation where u have a president that is as clueless as his face, its going to go down without even a whimper from the Nigerian govt.
He has so neglected Nigerian military in preference to touts like asari and tompolo that even ordinary chad that should be seeking military and financial assistance from us has turned us to a laughing stock.
I hope u are aware that there is a joint operation between the three nations of Cameroon.Chad and Nigerian and recently AU is stepping in with 7,500 troops.there is a regional coalition going on against terror in the north east.always cross check facts before conclusion.the USA with all their military might still build a coalition force each time they re going to war.there is nothing wrong with it.the world is global village and terrorism doesn't know international boundaries hence the military corporattion!

God bless you oo. Sovereignty is basically domestic hegemony and international autonomy. Every state should be free from external influence and foreign intervention, of course unless the state itself calls for help.

The international system is also anarchic, no leader, and states are the most powerful actors (at least for a realist), some states are just powerful than the others.

Nigerias military is not weak. Internal sabotage especially from those sympathizing with the boko haram ideology is the main reason why we have not been able to defeat them. Nigerian army is among the best ground forces in the world

Approval of bombing into nigeria town is not what the government will come out and be shouting about.I think it is part of strategy to take them unawares.
