Don’t Threaten Danjuma, ACF Warns Tompolo, Dokubo by Pheals(f): 4:39am On Feb 03, 2015
The northern socio-political organisation, Arewa Consultative Forum, has warned Niger Delta ex-militants not to threaten a former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.).
The northern group said neither Danjuma nor any citizen of the country for that matter should be threatened with attacks by the ex-militants, who have been threatening fire and brimstone should President Goodluck Jonathan loses the February 14 presidential poll.
The ex-militants had threatened to attack Danjuma’s business interest in the Niger Delta for daring to ask that security agencies should arrest leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari;and other ex-militants.
Dokubo-Asari, Victor Ben Ebikabowei a.k.a Boy Loaf; Government Ekpudomenowei, a.k.a Tompolo and other militants had, during a meeting at the Bayelse State Government House, vowed to unleash violence on Nigerians if Jonathan failed in his re-election bid.
They said any attempt to unseat the President would be seen as a direct affront to the Ijaw nation.
The ACF said it viewed the threat by the ex-militants as not only a direct affront on Danjuma but on the President Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government.
National Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Muhammadu Ibrahim, in a statement in Kaduna on Monday, said, “ACF and indeed all Nigerians hold Gen T.Y. Danjuma, former Chief of Army Staff and Defence Minister in high esteem, as a revered patriot, elder statesman and a philanthropist of repute who fought for the unity of Nigeria and has continued to play this fatherly role even in his old age.
“ACF will therefore not accept any threat to his person or business assets or to any law-abiding citizen by any group or individuals in the name of militancy.”
The northern body therefore asked security operatives to take urgent steps to avert what it described as “ugly consequences” of war threats by the ex-militants.
Danjuma had penultimate Wednesday asked the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency arrest the Niger Delta ex-militants who threatened war in the country if Nigerians failed to re-elect Jonathan.
Danjuma spoke at the inauguration of Kwakwasiya City in Kano.
He had said, “You should arrest Dokubo-Asari, Tompolo, Boyloaf and other Niger Delta militants for making reckless statements, which in any way does not mean keeping Nigeria as one entity and creating war situation.
“Those were reckless statements coming from irresponsible individuals; they should be condemned and be arrested immediately.”
Neither President Jonathan nor the Federal Government has reacted to the threat by the former militants.
The ACF warned that nothing must tamper with the business empire of Danjuma because there was nothing wrong with his call for the arrest of ex-militants that had been threatening the peace of the entire country.
The ACF reminded the ex-militants that the President was not elected by Nigerians in 2011 based on threat or intimidation from any section of the country.
It stressed, “ACF wishes to remind the Niger Delta militants that President Jonathan did not ascend to his present position through threats and intimidation, but rather through democraticmeans of canvassing for votes without any form of molestation throughout the length and breadth of Nigeria in 2011.
“The same process the President and other candidates vying for the office shall go through to emerge as Nigeria’s President in 2015 and not through intimidation, threats and ultimatum.
“ACF therefore views such threats and intimidation by the ex-militants as an affront not only to Gen. Danjuma but an attack on a democratically elected Federal Government of Nigeria, over which President Jonathan presides.
“It is also an open challenge to the nation’s security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Security and even the Nigerian military that are responsible for maintaining law and order and any form of internal and external aggression against Nigeria.
“ACF hereby calls upon the Federal Government to urgently take necessary steps and contain this emerging threat to national security by Niger Delta ex- militants to avert any ugly consequences.”www.punchng.com/news/dont-threaten-danjuma-acf-warns-tompolo-dokubo/

If the DSS and the Police can't arrest these thugs,at least for some interrogation, then it means that either they are scared of these militants or they are working towards Jonathan's desperation to hold on to power. The President looks gentlemanly, but a deeper examination will reveal his wickedness. It is under this president that the unity of the nation is frequently threatened.

How quick they are to respond. If only they had responded this quick to Boko Haram when it first started. Or is Danjuma more important than the other Northerners killed by Boko? ACF should stop chasing rats while their houses are burning.

Nigeria has never been united. To be united means all ethnic group in Nigeria should live together in peace and harmony. In a united country every constituent group is treated equally and fairly. This has never been the case with previous governments prior to the current. How come people write and ascribe divisiveness to this government while keeping quiet on the atrocities of past governments. GEJ is not the best we can have but he is far better than previous heads of state. Lest we forget the system of promoting our 20th eleven instead of the first was established and sustained through the years. GEJ is a product of this system, brought by OBJ himself also a product and beneficiary. We are yet set to continue with the same mistakes by bringing Buhary back.

This is a trait inherent in every Fulani man: occupation. Even while they are using your land to graze, they still want to lord over you.

It is only done in Nigeria as our prisons are built for the poor. Be in power; do what you like, say what you like, the law and its agents look the other way.

Why is it you Ibo guys carrying this matter on your head....? Just read what this your brother wrote few days ago

PLEASE NOTE WHO IS TALKING ABOUT BUHARI’S CERTIFICATES

For what it is worth, folks ought to notice who is talking about Buhari’s education or lack of it, his certificates or lack of them: Igbos.
Other Nigerians (Hausas, Fulanis, Yorubas, Edos, Efiks, Ijaws etc.) keep quiet on a subject they know that they ought to keep quiet on but brain dead Igbos do not know when to be silent. They must jabber on and on and fill the airwaves with cacophonous noise that takes them nowhere.
Nafata, the anonymous guy with a private agenda, hatred of Islam, a guy who is scared stiff of having a Muslim elected the president of Nigeria because his handlers would rather that did not happen anywhere in Africa and the world, is their only Non-Nigerian co-traveler in this noise making session on Buhari’s education.
The mindless folks who refuse to learn from their painful experience are at it, again. They are now making a mountain of a molehill. Some of them make incredible statements such as say that Buhari did not even go to elementary school (and yet went to military academies and did well at it them).
Only a fool would believe their nonsense. Many persons, themselves included do not know where their elementary and secondary school papers are.
Other Nigerians keep quiet where quiet needs to be kept but fools do not fear to tread on grounds that angels fear to walk on.
Today, it is Buhari’s certificates; yesterday it was that he came to office in 1983 via a military coup. Obasanjo did, didn’t he; didn’t he become the head of the Nigerian state under the civilian dispensation? And while we are talking of Obasanjo have you really seen his certificates?
Yesterday weren't Igbo folks telling us that Obasanjo did not attend secondary school and that he was a roadside mechanic?
Have you seen Jonathan’s certificates? Given the way Jonathan talks I doubt that he even went to secondary school. Or, maybe, he bought certificates: elementary school, secondary school and university from the Igbo sellers of such papers at Onitsha market? In my estimation, Jonathan is a stark illiterate, his paper certificates notwithstanding!
I often ask; when would Igbos learn to keep quiet when quietude is needed; when would they be tactful and diplomatic when talking too much sets traps for their people to be penalized by Nigerian leaders?
They ought to stop talking like raving lunatics who do not realize that what they say come to hunt them. Their past talking currently hurts them in the sense that no economic development takes place in their region and no one cares to do so for they are written off as an irrelevant part of the Nigerian polity.
No non-Igbo Nigerian would contemplate electing an Igbo as the president of Nigeria. Instead of them mulling on this sad fact they do what is expected of fools: take refuge in the fact that an Ijaw man who does not give a hoot about Igbos is running for president.
They have forgotten that during slave times Ijaws were responsible for selling Igbos to white men; they have forgotten that during the Nigerian civil war Ijaws sided with Nigerians in killing Igbos; they have forgotten that Ijaws do not want anything to do with Igbos; certainly Ijaws do not want to be part of Biafra.
The Ijaw president hired a non-Igbo to run a new university he is building in his village. Igbos, I tell you, are mentally deficient; they are dead men talking. No wonder folks tune them out and ignore them when they make their noises that they take as wisdom.
I few minutes ago I took a look at Nigerian Internet forums and my peace was disturbed reading the rubbish Igbos write on Buhari. I wish that they would just stop and go away and stop making fools of their selves!
These people make beds of thorns for their selves, sleep on them and bleed all over the bed sheets!

You speak like you know what you're saying, is Danjuma Fulani?

Your impatience to generalize (another faux pas) led you to make that embarrassing comment, which also highlights the fact that you're unaware that not all Fulanis are nomadic.

Arresting them at this moment will create serious problems!

Do you know why?

Those from the North who threatened to make Nigeria ungovernable were never arrested.
Those who said Nigeria will divide if power does not return to the north were never arrested.
A presidential candidate, who threatened that blood will soak baboons and dogs over 2015 elections was never arrested.

I believe in justice and equity.

If we have people who threaten from the North, then we must have those who equally threaten form the south.
If we have those who insist power must return to the north, then we must have those who insist power must remain in the south.

According to Chief Zeburudaya, "What are good for the geese, are also good for the gizzard"!

Who needs Nigeria anyway?
Who needs this slave camp created by slave British slave trades?
Danjuma is only after his oil blocks. Time is surely up for these internal colonial masters.
They threaten us and you guys will turn deaf ears.
but when there is a counter threat, you suddenly become "patriotic"!
