Recent unfortunate events unfolding especially amongst senior citizens and supposedly leaders of thought in the polity as they affect Bauchi State within the last couple of weeks is, to say the least, unfortunate and an ill wind that will blow no one - certainly not even the antagonists - any good. This informs our decision to come out in the open, place the blame where it rightfully belongs in support of the search for an amicable resolution. We resolved to come out in the open and call a spade a spade no matter whose ox is gored so that the culprit may take advantage of the opportunity to exorcise himself of the demons currently sitting pretty in his person, own up to his faults, apologize to those he has aggrieved and allow our State to continue in peace and harmony. Sitting on the fence at this critical point in our collective lives and history both as a people and as a geographical expression is certainly not an option any more.

It is already in the public domain that Governor Isa Yuguda has already returned his own 'GUILTY AS CHARGED' verdict on both Dr. Adamu Ahmadu Mu'azu [Walin Bauchi], National Chairman of the PDP and former Governor of the State, and Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir [kauran Bauchi] Minister of the Federal Capital Territory [FCT] over their 'culpability' - in a case that he is both Accuser and Judge - in the unfortunate incidence of booing, heckling and stoning of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his entourage when thePDP Presidential Campaign Train came calling on the State Capital on Thursday, 22nd January, 2015.

Let it be clear from the on start that we hold no brief for any of the parties to this imbroglio. We however wish to state without ambiguity that as stakeholders in the Nigeria Project in general and a major Socio - political grouping working for peace within Bauchi State in particular, we are NOT in the least surprised and hereby wish to place on record the blame for this ugly incident squarely where it belongs. We are convinced beyond all doubt that Governor Isa Yuguda conceived, hatched, masterminded and designed the 'project' in its entirety himself. We also affirm that it was executed by his minions from among the brigade of monster gangs [the 'SARA SUKA'] he created, sustained and nurtured throughout the 8 years he has been in power to terrorize and "keep in check" all those who share Opposing views to those he holds. This, indeed, is vintage Isa Yuguda - undemocratic, ever Hypocritical, Selfish, Treacherous, Mischievous, Diversionary, and Vindictive!
Given our understanding of his person, his style of politics, the virtual disdain with which he views all other political players and the contempt he holds against all his 'subjects'; and given his penchant for employing all means fair and foul to have it his own way whenever he sets his eyes on an objective - at all cost and whatever price - one need not be a soothsayer to have predicted the series of events of the last week. We are however still appalled by the extent to which he has degenerated so low as to mastermind and order a physical attack on the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria all in the hope to curry support from the electorate for a seat at the Senate - after 8 years as Governor - and attempt to pass the blame over himself by pronouncing the 'Abuja elements' guilty.

To understand better the Yuguda mindset, it is proper we go back in time. We must go back to the days in 2006/2007 during the build - up to the second civilian - to - civilian transition of the Fourth Republic. When Isa Yuguda declare his• intention to inherit power from the incumbent, then outgoing Governor Ah.madu Adamu Mu'azu, minced no words in making it clear to us the political class - and we were convinced beyond reasonable doubt - that the Isa Yuguda he knew for more than 25 years is , by his antecedents, NOT a credible option for Bauchi State. Recall that Yuguda and Mu’azu were both in the University about the same time. Recall that both were on the Board of defunct Inland Bank - one as• a Director and the other as Managing Director. Recall also that the latter was a direct beneficiary of the former who as Governor had nominated and recommended the latter for the post of Minister in the Obasanjo cabinet. As Transport and later Aviation Minister, Yuguda had tasted power and accumulated wealth. When he lost out in the politics of securing the Governorship ticket of the PDP, it was a matter of time for the burble to bust and that exactly happened when Yuguda jumped ship for the then ANPP, hoodwinked, cajoled and literarily bought his way to Government House on the back of General .Muhammadu Buhari. No sooner had he ascended power than he jumped ship again back to the PDP and the rest is now history.
Since then it has remained a balancing act of sots for Isa Yuguda in running affairs of Bauchi State. He has serially and systematically pauperized the polity, instituted corruption as a cardinal principle of state policy, destroyed the civil service, decimated the political class by throwing merit to the dogs and built and nurtured an urchin brigade from among the youths he has employed from way back in
2007 to wreck mayhem on all 'enemies' - real and imagined.

These were in action during the ugly incident at the eventful PDP Presidential Campaigns Rally in Bauchi.
A question that has always agitated the minds of most citizens especially the curious observer and analysts of political events in Bauchi State has been why the bad blood between Isa Yuguda and

Particularly Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir. Minister of the FCT
In addition to, and as a reflection of the workings of Yuguda's inner mind, we believe the Governor hates the Minister for the following reasons among others:

1. We know for a fact that the few successes Yuguda recorded as Minister of Transport and Aviation were the result of Senator Abdulkadir's intelligence, knowledge of, and experience in the workings of the Administrative bureaucracy of the system who as then S.A. to the former, virtually held the brief of then Minister who instead of attending to matters of state had used the opportunity offered by his appointment to amass stupendous wealth and pursue personal goals;

2. We also know for a fact that upon picking the ticket to contest the seat of Governor in 2007 under the defunct ANPP, Senator Abdulkadir worked assiduously for the success of Yuguda at the polls. He endured such personal physical, social and economic pains to make this possible and the citizens have not forgotten the sacrifices he made to actualize the dream of Isa Yuguda's ambition;

3. When as Senator, Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir sponsored the invocation of the 'Doctrine of Necessity' on the floor of the Senate to get the Nation out of the quagmire occasioned by the ill health and subsequent demise of the late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua, which led to swearing-in of then Vice President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan [a person whom the Governor held with so much disdain and contempt for no just cause so much so that that the former had to send emissaries to the later in an attempt to broker a truce]. As Acting President, Yuguda as an in - law to the late President minced no words and spared no effort and resources to castigate and disparage the Senator just for taking a patriotic stand against the cabal that had held the nation at the jugular to which Isa belonged. In fact he went as far as hatching a recall plan against the Senator that ultimately failed;

4. Senator Abdulkadir Bala Muhammad is by nature a very generous man. His support for his constituents and communities far and wide within Bauchi State and beyond from his days as a common Civil Servant to date has .endeared him so much to the people. The Minister over the years has been building countless number of schools, erected and maintained many places of worship, created and supported social and economic causes that work to impart skills and knowledge in handicraft, the trades, vocations, entrepreneurship development and provision of capital and equipment to those so trained to reduce unemployment. Isa Yuguda harbors pathological hatred against Kauran Bauchi for just being there for his people in their times of need When he as Governor has failed to discharge these basic responsibilities as the number one citizen;

5. As a Bauchi Emirate Title holder and member of the revered Traditional Institution, Senator Abdulkadir has so far remained consistent and indefatigable in contributing to the sustenance, welfare and up-keep of our cultural and traditional Institutions and values which have been serially decimated and made nonsense of by the Yuguda Administration and his style of Governance. A gift of an SUV by the Minister to each of the 6 First Class Emirs of Bauchi State to replace the vehicles they inherited from the past Administration of Dr. Adamu Ahmadu Mu'azu 8 years ago, .as Well as other gifts and support in cash and kind to ALL District and Village Heads of the State has only left Yuguda livid with anger over an issue the Kauran Bauchi should instead have been commended;

6. In the build - up to the 2015 elections, Senator Abdulkadir had indicated his desire to aspire for the seat of Governor of Bauchi State side by side other political heavyweights like the Former Minister of State for Health Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, former SGF Alhaji Mahmood Yayale Ahmed and sitting Senator Babayo Garba Gamawa among others. Aware of the hypocrisy of character and in-view of the Governor’s antecedents, the FCT. Minister finally shelved this ambition knowing fully well that Isa Yuguda - treacherous as ever - had a hidden agenda to foist his minion as candidate. A shadowy political neophyte and Member of the lower chambers of the National Assembly - Auwal Jatau - who is virtually unknown beyond his rural constituency was foisted on the PDP by Yuguda through a Primary [S]election that has left all Democrats reeling in disbelief. Senator Abdulkadir has kicked against this parody and minced no words in calling attention to the anomaly.

In conclusion, while asserting that we hold no grudge against Isa Yuguda for exercising his right to aspire for any position as guaranteed for every citizen by the Constitution, we however make bold to say that doing so at all cost and by all means is unacceptable. His blind singular ambition to move into the red chamber while at the same time hoping to secure a blissful future for himself by hoisting his protégé as Governor in the forthcoming elections by hook or crook is to say the least unfortunate. True to his character, in the battle to actualize this dream, no person or institution - not even Mr. President and Commander - in - Chief - is sacred or sacrosanct. His hobnobbing with the All Peoples Congress. [APC] and all other political parties in Bauchi State is an open secret. As usual, he is again attempting to buy his way to success with public funds that should have gone into the Social and Economic sectors for the benefit of the people.

As we speak, Isa Yuguda owes a debt of over N13billion in pension and gratuity funds alone 8 years after inheriting a meagre N400million in 20017. In the last quarter of the outgone year he further mortgaged we the citizens and even generations yet unborn to another_ set of indebtedness in the region of tens of Billions of Naira to build a residence befitting his status as an ex - Governor after 29th May, 2015 and other gladiators at his beck and call as well as settle some fictitious debts over - bloated and even unexecuted contracts. All these while he has refused to pay workers' salaries as and when due, reduced even our state capital roads to death traps and built an Airport at a cost more than 10 times that of neighboring Jigawa State.
Finally, we wish to call attention to the fact that with defeat staring him and his protégé in the face, Isa Yuguda is again toying with the idea of manipulating the system and overheating the polity to make the political situation ripe for instituting another 'State of Emergency' like he did back in 2007 – where his thugs wrecked mayhem during the elections taking scores of lives in the process including serving National Youth Service Corp members - so that he can coast home to Victory under the jackboot of_ security forces. The signs are all there for all to see. His boys - always in a permanent haze of drugs - are all over the place threatening lives and limbs should their principal fail to secure the Senate seat.
We call on the people and all stake holders to resist this effort at truncating democracy. We also call on Mr. President and the security agencies to pay special attention to Bauchi State especially in the next one month as Mr. Governor is busy mobilizing and deploying his crack brigade of brigands to act out his script as far as the General Elections are concerned.
