I don't see reason why the election should be postpone since we have been on this BH issue since. If the election date is postpone, is this an assurance from the army that this will end BH menance in the NE. If not lest go ahead with the election.

YSA06:
Gej is destroying this country, he's truncating our democracy using army that he couldn't use to fight BH, and I wonder how a right sensed Nigeria will support king NEBU.

My sincere prayer is may God rule his supporters' life the way gej is ruling this country, may God come to our rescue and do gej justice before he turns this nation into a war zone. (#gensanniabacha)
You are complaining because your rigging plans will be compromised by a shift in the elections. Unfortunately for you, you are contesting against the ruling part who will ensure that adequate security is provided to ensure the protection of the entire electoral process.

What would you and other unreasonable APC supporters do about it?

Keep deluding yourself that you are in charge...
In a democratic setting? You fools don't realize that this clueless man is so desperate and acting like some deranged dictator his team and clueless followers always label Buhari. Clueless "C-in-C" that couldn't use his power to resolve insecurity is flexing that same muscle now to intimidate oppositions. If INEC says yes, we will vote (thank God it's independent) he would have gag those ones into submission too. yeye undecided

A plot for military to take over.
GEJ wants interim govt /military take over, since he will lose at the polls.
Nigeria is just one, a kind of country;
When there is hope for good governance, it gets truncated. GEJ should not take us back to 1993

GEJ is definitely a clueless man who allows those arround him to think for him.

With the sort of criminals who surround him, it is no surprise if he keeps making reckless decisions that could jeopardise the stability of this country.

GEJ is very very clueless.

Security for elections is the work of NSCDC and NPF.

can d NSCDC or NPF match d heavy firepower of Boko haram or any of their allies shud they invade polling stations nearer to them on elections day? We have allowed d quest for power to cloud our judgement here. We think d crisis are isolated to d northeast forgetting that what goes around comes around. We sit in our comforts in d south and northwest not knowing that we are at serious war in this nation. We are guilty of cluelessness yet we accuse our leader of it.

APC have connived with INEC to rig the elections. This is a good decision from the army.APC have continue to insist on the Feb 14 date having favoured by INEC in the distribution of voters cards. If actually they are up to the tast, change of date won't be a problem to them, but they know that their shaddy deal with INEC will be exposed that's why they have continued to insist on the Feb.14 date.Elections in Nigeria have been holding between Match and April since 1999,why the hurry.Let INEC distribute all the voters cards to all eligible voters so that no one will be disenfrachised and whoever wins the elections knows that he merits it.APC stop crying foul.INEC should be given time to prepare.

Hmmmmm... I have said it somewhere in the past that this boko haram group sponsored by buhari and supported by the members of apc would soon come back and bite them.
Now the FG, PDP and other political parties want to use this as a justifiable reason to postpone the elections... hmmm
Truly, I blame apc for their loss in this elections already, even if it gets rigged..
You can't be campaigning with insecurity then turn back to say the country is safe to do elections.
Big Lesson learnt - Students of political Science should take note

I am Gabbysky and I endorse the postponement, we need to attend to urgent security matters that the apc is aware of already

Jega has been compromised! Hay fee cee stronghold state record an alarming 80-90% collection of pvc's while in the PDP strongholds the records are within 60-70% collection rate if not less. Who is deceiving who here? Hay fee cee must think the nigerian people are fools! Little wonder there are clamoring for the elections to hold whilst a lot of things have not been duely put in place. (Staff training, voting machines stations etc)
After all their fruitless propaganda and outright lies that made no impact whatsoever, they resolved to use the INEC to do their devilish bidding.
God knows without INEC recording a sufficient and satisfactory rate of nation wide distribution of pvc's, adequate training, ensuring the lives of the voters are secured, the election would not be held anytime soon.

Furthermore, the lives and security of the masses are at risk, knowing the violent and destructive nature of the hay fee cee goons, we need adequate security from all military/paramilitary formations of which they are currently engaged in the battle to rid the north eastern region of terrorist. Hence it makes a lot of sense to allow the military face one situation at a time. At the end of the day should JEGA go on with the election and this country burns would he be able to face the consequences of his decision??
The opposition needs to stop all this GEJ this and that, it's getting irritating! This is about the collective good of all and not just GEJ.
The opposition thought they are smart but then again as my sigy goes! "BABA GOD PASS THEM" kapish! cool

You think this is a smart move? Lol.

He just shot himself in the legs.

If the election is postponed and he wins the election after, the country will be thrown into chaos. Postponement should have been deliberated but not one week to the election.

GEJ could win the election but going into panic mode and frenzy will make things worse. He is heating up the polity unnecessarily. If I were him, I will fortify my security esp. with the likes of IBB, OBJ, GMB and their esprit de corp minions lurking around. Things usually start small and can, and do get out of hand.

Jega and APC are jokers.

How does Jega explain over 80% PVC collection in North East ravaged by insurgency while most of the southern states are still grappling with less than 50% collection?

The last time I checked this mooted postponement falls within the provision of the Electoral Act.

What is Jega and APC getting at?

80 percent of maybe 100,000 citizens compared to 60 percent of maybe 1,000,000 citizens is an insignificant figure.

I am really sad and angry as I type this message.

Nigerians made a mistake by electing jonathan into that office. The grudges of the civil war won't let this country move forwwward because the ibos won't just forgive and forget. The postponement of the elections will destabilise this country and the ibos just want out of Nigeria because they are perpetually sad and hateful of the hausas and yorubas that's why they are pushing jonathan to scuttle our hard earned democracy.

I am a yoruba christian and I am boiling at the thought of election postponement now imagine what an hausa muslim will be feeling. If the North goes into a bloody riot and starts killing southerners now,we would all call them terrorists but we as humans should always think of hw our actions affect others especially if we are on the receiving end.

Muhammedu Buhari has been cheated 3 times already and you want to cheat him the 4th time? Is that fair? Is that what Jesus Christ teaches us as Christians? (Am referring to the ibos here because this government is their government)

If and when trouble starts, the ibos should not be heard screaming pogrom or genocide oooo. All well meaning Nigerians should rise up and condemn in the strongest term the attempt by Jonathan and his PDP minions to truncate our fledging democracy.

In conclusion,I really pity the ibos in all these because the anti ibo sentiment in the North and West is already high and any action or inaction of this administration as it relates to this election will be avenged on the ibos through both violent and non violent means.

I am really tired of the Nigerian situation because we can't move forward as a nation when a section of the country wants to secede at all costs.I would suggest that the ibos and the South South be let go to put an end to all these Ethnic and religious tensions.

When Chibok girls where taken away, the next day PDP went to Kano for a rally. people condemned it . PDP told people that governance cannot grind to a halt just because of insecurity in the country. Now they want election to be postponed because of same insecurity issue. see hypocrisy. This Govt. has failed woefully.

Imagine our military cannot provide security for election they were informed about months ago. So if there was a crisis in the country they would need years to respond. We can finally see that since GEJ couldn't coarse INEC and Council of state, he has finally decided to use the armed forces to postpone the election. If security is a concern in a few local government let's postpone election there. But the president and PDP knows if elections hold on FEB 14 they will loose. I just pity all thos poor Nigerians especially students who have travelled to places they feel safe. They have to come back.
