Brief description:
Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), are long term development awards administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They provide opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.
To ensure the development impact of Australia Awards Scholarships, all awardees must return home on completion of their studies so they can contribute to development in their country

The scholarships are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to receive a Scholarship, applicants must:
a. be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing the Scholarship
b. be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website) and be residing in and applying for the scholarship from their country of citizenship
c. not be married, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds, or is eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any time during the application, selection or mobilisation phases (note: residents of Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau with New Zealand citizenship are eligible but must apply for a Foreign Affairs or Defence Sector (subclass 576) visa
d. not be current serving military personnel
e. not be a citizen of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia or be applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently
f. not be applying for another long‐term Australia Award unless they have resided outside of Australia for twice the length of the total time that they were in Australia
g. have satisfied any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the government of the applicant’s country of citizenship (e.g. having worked a certain number of years in an appropriate sector)
h. be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the award is to be undertaken
i. be able to satisfy all requirements of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to hold a Foreign Affairs or Defence Sector (subclass 576) visa.
j. Applicants must inform the Program Area of any connection or relationship to staff employed at Program Areas or with managing contractors so that the application may be properly and transparently managed.

Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships for International Students

The Government of Flanders launches a new scholarship program, Master Mind Scholarships that aims to promote the internationalization of the Flemish Higher Education. It awards up to 35 scholarships to outstanding Master students from all countries.

The incoming student is awarded a scholarship of maximum 7.500 Euro per academic year. The Flemish Host Institution can ask the applicant for a tuition fee of maximum 100 Euro per year.
The duration of mobility is minimum 1 academic year and maximum the full duration of the master program.
Eligibility:
• The applicant is registered as a full-time student at a higher education institution (hereafter ‘Home Institution’) at the moment of application, and applies to take up a Master degree program at a higher education institution in Flanders (hereafter ‘Flemish Host Institution’).
• The applicant should have a high standard of academic performance and/or potential. He/she meets all academic entrance criteria, including relevant language requirements, for entering the Master program in question offered by the Flemish Host Institution.
• The Home Institution of the applicant and the Flemish Host Institution have signed a cooperation agreement.
• Students from all countries can apply. The Home Institution is located outside of Flanders.
Application instructions:
Students cannot apply directly. Applications need to be submitted through the Flemish host institution, in consultation with the home institution of the applicant. The home institution of the applicant and the Flemish host institution should have signed a cooperation agreement. Deadline of applications is 31 March 2015.
