@OP, I think is wrong. the songs may teach you bad things and the song dont give GOD glory so why play it ? play the songs that will teach you what the LORD wants from us and what will make him happy. not sexy songs e.t.c . |

twoondei:Say that's how u perceive it! Hip hop/rap fans don't listen to it primarily for the melody or tune. It's the lyrics (the content) and delivery that we care about |

this is how you people were busy not facing your front until one of you opened a thread to inform everyone he goes to brothels regularly? How can you not know patronizing brothels is not something a Christian is supposed to be doing? hope my post is clear and I'm not using big English? |

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? listening 2 worldly music or love song or any music dat does glorify God encourages lust. Anoda tin u must understand is: before u start enjoying any gud music u hear 1st of all check weda d artists is a born again or not. I was once a victim of Reggae music until I realized is not gud. 4 instance U listen 2 music dat carries gud message like reggae bt d artists smokes marijuana or cocaine what type of effect do u expect 2 get. just note dis: Anything u listen 2 affects d soul either positively or negatively. 2 Likes |

Any song that is carnal in nature is a wordly song.Songs which openly, directly or indirectly support indecency crime, lust or any other ungodly act are not for genuine children of God. |

Am shocked and suprised reading some lines here. It shows how ignorant many people are. Worldly songs are not good because it has power to lure people into sin. If you are serious with your relationship with God you cannot mix it with worldly song and excel. With it you will easily go back to your vomit 1 Like |

pabon: free2ryhme: Samunique: kunlenkirol: eleko1: 'Old school' or 'New School' doesn't matter. You can dance and move your body - as long as its essence doesn't dishonour God. Essentially, all the answers you request are encompassed in those comments. I would only add two more Bible quotes: ''So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.'' Romans 10:17. By direct implication, foolishness, death, sin and ultimate destruction, which are all 'Anti-Faith' also comes by HEARING - but hearing in this case, words which do not edify God. Fair and Simple! Please ask yourself, what does 'Dorobucci,'Limpopo' and 'Eminado' mean? You think they mean 'Praise the Lord' or anything positive? I doubt. '...anywhere Doro dey, wahala dey...' You called them 'worldly 'for a reason. If its worldy then its not good as a christain. I am someone that loves good quality music but then as a christain i need to filter what i hear. Ask yourself these questions whenever you are listening to any of those songs. 1. Is it edifying 2. Is it glorifying God 3. Does it have any positive impact on your spiritual life, does it increase your faith. 4. How about the lyrics, is it what a child of God should listen to, is it in line with the word of God. 5. Does the music stir up your faith or does it increase the tendency to have lustful thoughts. 6. The videos of the musicals what do they depict? Now note that even some of the so called christain music are not really christain, not even biblical at all. You even need to have a discerning spirit to know a true christain song. The church has been infiltrated slowly with worldy music and if you are not careful you find out you are not praising God. Most of those music depict sex, sex and sex, naked ladies, more sex and pollute your mind. I know its almost impossible not to listen to those music by mistake because they are everywhere but condition your mind not to. Have a good collection of Godly christain music. You can never go wrong with hymns and I also recommend Don moen's collections. (just felt I should add this part and you can almost never go wrong with hymns) Also do not be tempted to filter out the one you think is good or bad out of the pool of songs. As long as it is worldly it is bad. So EOOJ all worldly songs are bad. 1 Like |

three things make a great song. melody...groove...and lastly...the lyrics. as u can see. nobody will take cognisance of the lyrical content of any piece at first hearing i can bet you there are a lot of songs you think you know but if you are asked to sing it. you just keep repeating the hook. thus no one will be a saint when it comes to eschewing circular music. nothing like worldly music o. just that gospel music has judt found its way into the genres of music. gospel music could be done with any groove. raggae.makosa.highlife.juju.hip hop.etc infactvgoing by the word "gospel" which interpretes as good news. most of the songs in the gospel mudic genre font even qualify. you see. let your consviece guide you. dont let the groove sweep you away. make a convenant with your ears snd eyes not to conscioudly listen to or see raw music that is if the melody will allow you. lol |

It depends on the lyrical content. Dats one problem most ppl have these days. There's nothing wrong listening to songs like "happy" or "stay with me" |

I love Reggae music and I love it to the bone, most of the so called gospel singers out there don't even have a message, they are the worldly, only for the money, its also important to let you knoew that the messages I get from reggae has helped my live positively for instant A true Conscious Reggae Singer believes in peace, not covetous, They sing about Jah (Jahovah), they also encourage you to always seek his face especially during crisis. Reggae musicians like Bob Marley, Luciano, Garnet Silk, Burning Spears etc when you take time to listen to their lyrical contents you'd agree with me. 2 Likes 1 Share |

always google up the lyrics.I do that a lot...I listen to a lot of songs both gospel and rock, ballards,r n b....you can't tell me ed sheeran, coldplay,Celine Dion songs corrupt me even some Beyonce,Eminem,Bruno mars, miley cyrus songs are quite healthy.even as a christian, don't you experience love and romance,so why should songs on it be termed bad...so many people just classify songs that are not termed gospel as worldly songs..just because a musician mentions Jesus doesn't mean the song is gospel..some so called gospel songs these days are mere party songs.check the lyrics..there is nothing like worldly song and gospel songs..it is either a song is good or bad... |
