Northern Council of Former Councillors of Nigeria (CFCNN) has declared support for the re-election of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, saying there was need for continuity to enable the president complete on-going transformation of the country. The former councillors’ council also called on politicians to desist from utterances and actions capable of truncating democracy in the country, just as it urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all Nigerians receive their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) before the general election. In a communiqué signed by Mr. Umar Aliyu and Mr. David Duniya, chairman and secretary of the body, and made available to reporters in Kano on Tuesday after their meeting, said: "After consultations, we have come to the conclusion that we will devote all our democratic efforts to supporting President Goodluck Jonathan's return to office in 2015 to continue with the programmes and projects now spreading across the nation". "Nigerians are already familiar with the rapid transformation going on in the education sector with the unprecedented increase in the number of universities, modernization of airports; revolution in agriculture through the GES scheme, upgrading of hospitals. telecommunication sector, gains in the Foreign Direct Investment and rebasing of the national economy." The former councillors forum also condemned what they described as harsh utterances by politicians capable of derailing democracy, while calling on politicians, religious leaders and opinion leaders to desists from overheating the polity and allow for peace, unity and purposeful development in the country. "We commend the current administration for providing enough space for the democratic freedom of speech but we condemn the abuse of this freedom by some politicians who consider it an opportunity to disrespect and disparage the nation's leadership". The communique concluded that "We commend INEC for the foresight of shifting election date to enable the commission prepare adequately and to ensure that no Nigerian is disenfrachised and call on INEC to ensure credible, free and fair elections. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/northern-council-of-former-councillors-endorses-jonathan/202052/ 2 Likes |

They said Buhari will take us back if elected President! Nigerians say it's a good decision to go back when you've lost your way on a 16yr PDP journey where our destination as a nation is no longer visible. Please, Buhari, take us back to the era where: 1. One Dollar was less than one Naira. It is incredible today! 2. Everything was on first come first serve basis. 3. There was zero tolerance for corruption. 4. Oil refineries in PortHarcourt, Warri & Kaduna were built & running at full capacity. 5. Anybody with questionable wealth was afraid to display it in public. 6. There was Zero tolerance for in discipline. Everything was in order 7. Nigeria had no debt at all. 8. Neglecting your children was a crime 9. Littering the public place was a crime 10. Twenty oil depots were built and functioning. 11 Western world can't interfere into our nation. 12. Chad invaded Nigeria, we sent them packing but did not harness their Land 13. Our economy was NOT running on generator 14. We can sleep with our eyes closed because we were secured. 15. Countries like Indonesia and Malaysia need not to set example on how to deal with drug pushers. 16. The Maitaseine Islamic Sect insurgency in the North was crushed on record time. 17. We want those days when Buhari was a military Governor but did not amass illegal wealth. 18. We want those days when Buhari was a Minister of Petroleum but did not hire a private jet for N10 billion. 19. We want those days when Buhari was a Head of State but did not loot the Treasury. 20. We want those days when Buhari was Head of PTF but did not steal the Fund even in the days of Abacha when stealing was the order of the day. Pls, Buhari & Osinbajo, take us BACK! We can't afford another 4yrs of waste in the hands of PDP!!! Take us BACK to the good old days of this our great nation. If you want this to happen, circulate the message!!! 1 Like |

The world has gone beyond the era of - - Using brutal force to compel people stand in lines, waiting for food hand outs in the name of essential commodity. - Inflicting maximum penalty for menial offences like expressing opposing views. - We condemn Malaysia & Indonesia for beheading drug offenders today, yet some people want a man that killed Nigerians for 'drug possesion in the name of 'change'. - Jailing journalist for exposing govt. lies. We want 21st century ideas for 21st century problems. Buhari go home & face your cows..... GEJ till 2019 2 Likes 1 Share |

masterpower: Are you sure you are referring to me? Because I am a die hard Jonathan supporter and one of those who disdain Buhari! My comment is nothing but fact! Until these endorsements translates to actual valid votes, I take them with a pinch of salt. Bros, never you be a rush to pass a judgment! Cheers |
