Brain Teaser. At the local model boat club, four friends were talking about their boats. -There were a total of eight boats, two in each colour, red, green, blue and yellow. Each friend owned two boats. No friend had two boats of the same colour. -Alan didn't have a yellow boat. Brian didn't have a red boat, but did have a green one. One of the friends had a yellow boat and a blue boat and another friend had a green boat and a blue boat. Charles had a yellow boat. Darren had a blue boat, but didn't have a green one. Can you work out which friend had which coloured boats? |

Very simple brain teaser During the latest round of the triathlon, Keith was fourth. Adrian is not the oldest, but is older than Duncan, who was not second. The child who was next in age to the youngest, finished second. The child who finished in third place is older than the child who finished first. Billy is younger than the child who finished in third place. Can you determine who finished where and place the children in order of age? |

Re: Can You Think Outside The Box? by Ksslib(m): 4:12pm On Mar 08, 2015 |
akinsadeez:OK first off, One friend has Yellow and Blue. And another has Green and Blue.. That leaves us with 4 boats reamining which are-----Yellow,Red,Red, and Blue since they're all 8 in total.. Now, given the fact that no guy has same boat, the only possible combination from the boats reaming must be.. Yellow and Red Red and Blue.. Therefore we have a total combination of; Yellow and Blue Green and Blue Yellow and Red Green and Red ....... But we don't know who owns which, so let's figure that out... Alan doesnt have Yellow so he either owns ...... Green and Blue Or Green and Red.... From Green and Blue Green and Red Brain doesnt have Red but has Green, so we know he has a ....Green and Blue boat for sure since The only Green combo we have is... Green/Red and Green/blue but remember he has no Red, so its def Green and Blue. Charles has Yellow so he either owns ..... Yellow and Red Or Yellow and Blue.. From Yellow and Blue Yellow and Red Darren doesnt have Green but has blue so he owns a Yellow and Blue boat since the only other boat with Blue has green... From.. Yellow and Blue [s]Green and Blue Yellow and Red Green and Red [/s] Now, Since Alan has no Yellow boat and only 2 boats have no Yellow(Green/Red and Green/Blue), Plus Brain has already taken the Green/Blue one, the only other boat with no yellow combo is Green and Red.. So we now know Alan is the owner of the Green and Red boat.. Charles has a Yellow boat. Only 2 boats have Yellow. Darren already has the Yellow and Blue one, so we now know Charles is the owner of the Yellow and Red one.. Boat owners... Darren....... Yellow and Blue Brain..... Green and Blue Charles..... Yellow and Red Alan...... Green and Red Pheeew.. 2 Likes 1 Share |
