CHAIRMAN SPEECH AT A MEETING OF ONDO STATE PDP ELDERS CAUCUS HELD ON 28-02-2015 AT HIGH CHIEF AKINTANS COURT IDANRE.
Distinguished ladies and gentle men of our great party . I salute you all and welcome you to the serene ancient city of Idanre . We have deliberately chosen this is city for this important meeting for two reasons.
1. During the formation of the Egbe Omo Oduduwa ,the elites ,the profoundl y astute political intelligentsia of the Yoruba race croweded in the small town of Owo to establish their distinct honour and pronounced their unique oneness and called it the EGBE OMO ODUDUWA.that is why the city of Owo is revered to as the source of Yoruba political emergence. ladies and gentlemen, with this important meeting here today , we are opening a new chapter Yoruba political resurgence and we are happy that it is happening here in IDANRE.

2. Idanre is the home town of our patron ,the indefatigable political icon , who at the age of 88 years has just launched a book which he has nurtured for the past 50 years..papa AGBOOLA AKINTAN.the barrister, ,the developer , the philanthropist , the energizer the philosopher , the bastion of knowledge ,the High chief Ojomu of Idanre kingdom.we believe one of the honours we can bestow on him is to have this important meeting of our party in his elegant home.

The PDP snatching defeat from the jaws of victory .we must tell ourselves the truth , the PDP in Ondo state is NOT in the best shape .As your chairman , I have the duty to tell you the truth.
From the steady political victories of the late 1990s to the early 2000s we reached a political valley in 2009 when our party lost a well fought struggle to the then labour party ,courtesy of jaundiced judicial largesse. But in spite of this law political trough , you men and women of honour ,you stood firm and resilient for 6 harrowing years in political wilderness. We toiled and struggle and we were ready to pay our dues.


Surely and steadily we grew and we soon became as political darling of our Ondo state .citizens from other political party begged to join the PDP. In this regard , I wish to congratulate and appreciate our former chairman Hon. Ebenezer Alabi for his zeal and vigor in uplifting the fortunes of our party .He was a tireless worker .in the last quarter of 2014 , we were cork sure that the PDP in ondo state can win any election alone .


Then the bubble burst in the early 4th quarter of 2014 when Gov. Mimiko and the LP members joined the party .On Sunday 7th September 2014 ,meeting of ondo state elders caucus held at Igbokoda ,Hon Mafo ,the host hoped that “with the LP plan to join the PDP, electioneering would become easier”. that wish has now turned to be what it is – wishful thinking!

We have been jumping from one intrigues to another , parading the corridors of one federal court to another , our once revered state working committee and exco has been decimated on two different occasion,the doors and keys to our state party secretariat have been destroyed even in the face of actions and contrary to existing court injunctions.
Today is feb,.28th 2015 and collection of pvc end in another 8 days and the national elections will take palce in another 28days . electioneering group has been put together by the governor without recourse to the legally recognized exco of the party. the presidential visit to our state was a sham of what it could be.

Funds that should be accruable to the party are denied.Thanks to Bar. Jimoh Ibrahim who funded the old PDP rally during the presidential visit to ondo state.The real PDP dominated the rally venue in other to prove that PDP in Ondo state is in control.
Despite all moves we made for Harmonization with the governor , all this he turned deaf ears.over 100,000 members of both old and new PDP has dumped the party for APC,the market women ,the civil servants ,the artisans had made up their minds to cast their votes for the opposition in other to proof that what the NWC,MIMIKO ,PRESIDENT are doing to the Old PDP in ondo state after staying out of government for over 6 years does not pleased them. all this will have effect on the fortune of president Goodluck re-lection in 2015 in ondo state .From all indications, it seems Gov.Mimiko does not want Jonathan to win in Ondo state .yet, the president and other leaders still believes his lies and deceit.

Most of MIMIKO appointee are working for APC in their various local government ,yet the real owner of the house are not empowered rather they are contributing money among themselves for mobilization into the party and yet Abuja are sabotaging their effort by giving MIMIKO various support .up till now , we don’t know the candidate to fly the flag of our once glittering PDP. clearly ,we cannot go on like this .I once told the Governor that if things continues like this ,all of us will have bloody noses and the nose of the Governor may be the bloodiest of us all.
ladies and gentlen, let me stop here. we cannot go on like this I repeat ! And time is not on our side .the ball is now in your court ,and like the Americans will say "Lets take it and run”

A MEETING OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP) ELDERS HELD AT THE HIGH CHIEF AKINTANS HOME IN IDANRE ON SATUEDAY 28TH FEBRUARY ,2015.

A meeting of PDP leaders in Ondo state met at High chief Akintans house today 28th February ,2015 to address the lingering crises in PDO ondo state chapter.

In his opening address , High chief Akintan Pleaded for peace in the party and the state as a whole.
The chairman of the party , Dr. Olu Ogunye went through memory lane on the genesis of the current crises in the party and pleaded with members to please put their heads together to evolve a solution before it is too late for the upcoming election.

Members variously discussed the way forward for the PDP in the state in order to win the forthcoming presidential , national assemblies election. members believe unless the crisis is resolved ,the electoral fortune of the party will be bad.

After a lot of debate , members agreed that A harmonization of existing lists of candidates for senate , National assembly is critical to resolve the crises.

Any aspirants not included in the final list should be compensated for their financial involvement . it was also resolved that Bar. Jimoh Ibrahim , Chief Olushola Oke , chairman of the party Dr. Olu Ogunye should meet under the auspices of High chief Akintan to finalize the harmonized list.

members pleaded with themselves to remain in the party to ensure success of the party for the benefit of the state.
The harmonized list should be done by Gov. MIMIKO , Bar.Jimoh Ibrahim , Bar.Olushola Oke and Dr.olu Ogunye and forwarded to INEC,NWC and the presidency. The harmonization should be concluded within seven day from today 28th -02 – 2015.
The meeting resolved to hold another meeting as soon as possible after the harmonization may have been concluded.
