Hi Guys, I want to service my 2003 corolla sports and the recommended engine oil from my manual says 5w30. I cant seem to get it hence I was advised to use Mobil 1 0w40. Am I safe using this? |

I have used 0W 40 Mobil 1, for my Camry all along, though the OEM recommendation is 5W 30, like most Toyota units. That was because that specs was not easily available in Nigeria. The oil served efficiently, as the Engine is still almost noiseless for over 4 years and never had any issue. However, I discovered this January when I went to service my Highlander, that Mobil has introduced the recommended 5W 30 into the Nigerian market, as my mechanic used it. I advise that you check major Mobil stations in your area. |

wishmeluck: Search cartalk its readiliy available. 0w40 is slightly thicker than 5w30. |
