That Ikoyi bridge toll gate is owned by Lagos State govt/ Tinubu. They are the ones who collect millions daily from the bridge. The bridge is also manned by the police and all of a sudden , they were no where to be found on the day of robbery. Fashola/Tinubu must tell Nigerians what happened on that day! How come his police officers left their post for the robbers to to have easy access? Fashola and Tinubu must tell Lagosians what actually transpired on that day!

Please this should not be a laughing matter, Lagos hardly experiences bank robbery attacks like this recent one. What if this happens in the Cms area or marina of lagos island? Anybody could be shot. Please we should seek solutions and pray, instead of fashola joker because you might not be alive to make the next joke. My opinion.

While we laff....let us pause and consider some facts.

Lagos , as well as the rest of Nigeria is underpoliced.

The fact that robbers could easily strike was due to the diversion of policemen to provide security.

We not only need more Police for Lagos.....we also need a specialist tactical police unit....to deal with serious urban crime...like the SWAT teams in America and Russia's SPESTNAZ. We also need similar special purpose forces for the Army to tackle Boko Haram and the new , decentralized terrorist of the 21st century.

Yes it is good to laff....but the parlous state of policing in our country....to the point that an armed robber has more firepower than AK-74 wielding policemen as well as the under-policed nature of the area the bank was located tells me that our police is not ready for the 21st century. And it is a shame that we would rather laff than think about that.

And BTW....time to have a second look at state police....even those of us who oppose it.

Sorry to say, but you make absolute no sense. with all the LASG investment to the NPF, they are not getting value for money because the state don't have direct control of the commissioner of police in the state, the CP reports to the IG who happens to be the appointee of the Presdient.
Instead of blaming Fashola, blame the constitution that foisted a central policing on us.
If Fashola controls police in Lagos, you will sleep at nights with your gates wide open.
Truth is most of those blaming Fashola either have no idea of the context of his statement, or they know but just want to either be mischievous or pretend to put head in the sand.
