Pilau Ingredients: 2 cups Basmati Rice 4 teaspoons Vegetable Oil 6 cloves garlic minced 1 inch ginger grated 4 green chillies chopped finely 1/2 kg Lamb (2 inch cubes) 1 large onion (chopped fine) 3 medium tomatoes (chopped finely) 1 desert spoon Coriander/cumin powder 4 Cloves 1 Cinnamon Stick (flat) 2 Cardamon 8 peppercorns tomato puree(peptang tomato paste) 1/2 kg potatoes or five boiled eggs, based on your preference *Wash and soak the rice for half an hour. *Put the oil in a pot, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamon and peppercorns, fry for a couple of minutes, then add the onions and fry until brown. Add tomatoes stir until tender, add coriander/cumin powder, and the tomato puree. *Add one cup of water and let it boil for ten minutes then stir and add the drained rice and the meat. *Let it boil for about ten minutes and stir from time to time to avoid clodding of the rice at the bottom of the pot. *Add the boiled eggs or potatoes then remove from heat. Cover the pot with a pot cover and put charcoal on the lid to let the food (That's an improvised oven!!! ). That will keep the food warm until serving time Pilipili(Pepper sauce to eat with the pilau) Ingredients: *1 raw mango, grated *1 raw pawpaw, grated *5 pepper, finely chopped *2 cloves of garlic, ground *4 tablespoons of cooking oil *1 onion, sliced *a pinch of salt *three tablespoons of tomato puree or 2 fresh tomatoes, peeled and blended *Add the onion, garlic and cooking oil in a pan and fry until golden brown. Then, add the salt an tomato puree and the pepper; let it boil for five minutes while stirring. *Add the grated pawpaw and mango and cover for ten minutes. *Serve while hot. The meal can be served with cold fruit juice. I love pineapple juice

Hi Epi!!! Loving the recipes, Your thread is one of the reasons I come to nairaland!! The recipe for spaghetti auflauf is easy. I'll just give you ingredients for the quick way to make it, then you can add more if you want. Ingredients. Spaghetti Mince sausage eggs grated cheese pepper salt milk Cook the Mince and sausage first, then boil your spaghetti(you can use left over spaghetti if you want a quick meal). Put the spaghetti, mince, sausage in a bowl and mix it. Pour it into a grease pan. Then mix the eggs and milk, add the salt and pepper, pour over the spaghetti and top with grated cheese. Then pop it into the over and voila after a couple of minutes, Spaghetti auflauf. It used to be my favorite dish when I was in Highschool. Quick to make and yummy!!!^_^. |
