Nigerian cuisine consists of food items from over a hundred ethnic groups that calls the sub-saharan country home. Like other contemporary sub-saharan African countries' cuisines - it uses spices, vegetables, palm oil, groundnut oil - to create deeply-flavoured sauces and soups often made very hot with chili peppers.
