Election: Soldiers Teach Kebbi Corps Members How To Use Guns by Sunnybobo3(m): 10:51pm On Mar 21, 2015
Ahead of next Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections and April 11 governorship and state houses of assemblies’ election, the military has begun training National Youth Service Corp members in Kebbi State on how to use guns.

According to www.dailymail.com.ng, the move was to have corps members who would work as adhoc staff for the Independent National Electoral Commission during the polls, help soldiers ward off any terrorist attack in the area while voting is ongoing.

An unnamed serving corps member in Kebbi who made the news public on Friday in an online post, said corpers were already undergoing training on how to effectively handle the m60 guns for the protection of themselves and the polling units they coordinate.

“The corps members were given security tips on how to prevent and handle mishaps in the course of the elections. They will not be given guns and ammunitions but in case the Boko boys decide to show their faces, corpers will be able to help the security agents. After all, we are all serving our father’s land,” the unidentified member said.

According to the source, the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Mustapha Haruna Jokolo, Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion, Dukku Barracks, Lieutenant Colonel M.M Abu, Commissioner of Police, Danladi Y Mshelbwala and Director of NDLEA in the state were among dignitaries that witnessed the event.

This is not so good. I hope the army will not leave them on their own when it happen(may it not happen).
Anyway, I advocate gun ownership for all Nigerians. It is our right.

this is a good one from the Nigerian Armed Forces. they should even teach them how to use armored tanks and anti aircraft guns while they are at it. free and fair elections indeed.
