Reading Culture Versus Watching Of Movies In Nigeria by Olajummylove(f): 3:01pm On Mar 28, 2015
I'd like for us to compare our reading culture versus watching movies or playing electronic games in Nigeria. As a person I'm more inclined to read novels or other inspirational books or ebooks on my iPad compared to watching movies or playing electronic games. Now I throw this question open, as a person which do you prefer Reading (as in for pleasure not by force due to educational reasons) or electronic games/Watching a movie.

Re: Reading Culture Versus Watching Of Movies In Nigeria by Nobody: 4:46pm On Mar 28, 2015
personally,I surf the net more than any of the three you mentioned. But if I'm to choose,I'll go for reading.
I seldom watch movies and when I do,I fall asleep faster than anything else.
Playing video games is last on my list...though I enjoy playing soccer(fifa14) wink but it's occasional.
Reading thrilling, suspense filled and mystery novels is major wink
Many times when I try solve some calculations or force myself to understand fluid mechanics and it doesn't work out,I'll just slid into one of my collections and whooop! I'm out of my worries.

Re: Reading Culture Versus Watching Of Movies In Nigeria by repogirl(f): 11:56pm On Mar 28, 2015
Well, I used to read a lot but with the advent of mobile internet and free movie/series downloads, I am now a chronic movie addict. Also due to constraints on my time, I have even lost the zeal to read, there was a time I could complete a large novel in one day but now even medium books can take me up to two weeks to complete, there is just no time so I only manage to read once in a while.

In the case where a movie is also on hardcopy, I try to read the book before watching the movie, e.g hunger games trilogy, fifty shades trilogy, enders game series, devil wears Prada, limitless and some others I can't recall now. The book is always far more rewarding than the movie. The only book I could never complete, even it's book one was the Lord of the rings series. The story was just so weird, the movie was possibly far more entertaining but I'm quite sure those who completed.it would beg to differ.

Anyway, it's quite sad that the general reading culture is rapidly dwindling these days cos there's a lot more to learn from books instead of watching it's Hollywood rewritten version.

From day one, i detest watching movies. I rather play Pes/ Fifa than glueing myself on one spot [just too ackward]. Reading rewards more to me. I only watch movie's when i have no other option.

it depends on the type of reading u r talking about even the pleasure one u mentioned.. my surf the net most often with nairaland my best choice just to come read stories and I've lost the zeal for reading paper back books

I don't pay phone games but system games and I don't like playing alone I play with my bro If he's around so I rarely play it

movies? I hardly watch any

I barely have time for any but if I must pick one, I'd go for movies

Although I like both,bt I enjoy reading books more dan watching movies.Infact I am addicted 2 reading,at a time I couldn't enjoy my meals wout reading a book.I only sit and watch movies wen I need 2 be entertained, datz wot most movies are all abt these days but reading goes beyond dat.Besides, thanks 4 d mention.

Nice one. Reading comes in easy for me and then writing is an integral part of my life as I need to always share value with my blog and live audience. SO movies and games come in handy to help me relax or getaway from everything in that order.

Cheers!
