With results from six states of the federation remaining to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, appears set to be declared as the president-elect having consistently been leading the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan since the collation of results resumed since Tuesday morning.

As at 3:30pm when the INEC national collation center proceeded on recess, Buhari is already leading Jonathan with a total of 2,894,260 votes from the results of the 30 states and the FCT already announced. APC has so far polled 13,760,509 votes while the PDP polled 10,866,249 votes so far.

Apart from having the total number of votes, APC seems to have scaled the second constitutional hurdle having scored more than 25 percent in 23 states out of the states already declared. APC has scored 55.26 percent of the total votes declared while PDP is trailing with 43.63 percent.
