I agree with u hernry on the video and am proud of our frontline troops.

I agree with you giles14 but what do you do when you are shot of the proper assets. What's make you excel in what ever you do is not much and better things you av available to you but how good you make of the little you have.

Even the developed army can't av it all.

I love our military, it's beginning to feel like a sickness!!!

I would have been so angry if i were from any other country in Africa but Nigeria.

God bless our military!!!

Guys you must watch these video, tester night when I finished downloading it, I just skipped through the video because it's about 43 mind video.

It shows every thing about the lives of troops in sambisa forest & CION.

At the beginning of the video soldiers where digging for water when they came under fire by BHT but they repelled the attack. Accidentally it looks like there was a friendly fire or a soldier being mistakenly ran of by a MBT.

Another part of the video I like is the tactical movement in which troops move inside Sambisa and the position of the MBT,MRAPs and Gun trucks are stationed in area of operation in case of attack.

And in the video, it shows how the NAF helps.in logistics supplies and evacuation of rescued civilians through air assets. A Lot of things you get to see in the video.

Big ups @fynline for these.....!

I thoroughly enjoyed the video!

It was not a friendly fire, we had one KIA. The soldiers were shouting RPGs shouldn't be fired, that we had guys in-front repelling the attacks.

I thought no person noticed that, our defensive parameters show that the Nigerian army is a well trained, well organised for. No amount of media propaganda can take that away. I just wish we had more IFVs though.

The defensive parameters were well organised and spaced just like you see in all British army videos.

The videos shows the importance of Light Utility Helicopters in operations. That guy came from Bama, he flew from Bama to Sambisa, then back to Bama, then to the Air Base.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I totally agree with u was a great enlightenment.

but 4 things disappointed me.
1.d Vickers tanks we need to replace dem
2.d destruction of grains wen we have starving n malnourished children in IDP camps
3.lack of proper communication gadgets eg firing on advanced troops which if der was good radio communication would b avoided.
4.lastly d Augusta 109 light skin choppers have no business dere.d commander towards d end was speaking of d chopper being fired at.dis ought to b d job of d super puma or maybe d mi17.

over all it was nice seeing d stuff our troops was made of.
more of dis videos are needed pls.

-Tanks break down, they even break down more in combat. Even the T-14 Armata tank broke down, the Type-96B broke down in Russia, American Abrams M1A2 broke down in Afghanistan. An F-16 could not release bombs in the battle of Marjah in Afghanistan because it's bombs malfunctioned. It is one of the costs of war. Our Vickers are a very important asset to have in ongoing operations.

- destroying grain, i partially agree, however the grain would not have done anything for IDPs in Bama, it would have made no difference. Instead the troops should have kept the grains for themselves.

- The troops have proper comms equipment. I lost count of guys whom i spotted carrying radios. It was not because of a lack of comms that made the guy fire an RPG, he wanted to provide additional fire. However, the guy close to him shouted that they were guys infront and he shouldn't use RPGs. It was just an error on the part of the RPG guy. It had nothing to do with comms.

- Sorry, I'll have to dispute that also. The A109 proved the importance of LUH in wars. Their ability to deliver logistics supplies and also carry rescued victims is second to none. An MI-17 can also be shot down, same as the Super-Puma. However with the LUH, we have high availability of assets when they are required.

I also found interesting that even in the frontline, troops practiced marksmanship, i have never seen this with other militaries. Never!!

Those blokes are not short of assets, i agree that more can be done, but they are well equipped and well supplied. I only wish we use a lot of IFVs, like the Turks in Syria. Combining both Tank, IFV, MRAP and heavily armed hilux vehicles.

Not even the british were adequately armed in Afghanistan.

Top top video. This is the 1st real tactical vid seen of the front line. The army seems to have properly adjusted to the BHT tactics. I particularly like and admire how the commander was in full control of the camp, while also mingling well with the boys. Impressive.

Wow.i.never noticed an RPG, was fired.

On the IFV I wish the same also but there is something I know for sure it's a matter of time both tracked and wheeled IFV will be added. We've lost a lot of brave men which could av being averted if they had being riding in IFV. IFV had more fire power and protection of men and also support our MBT from rockets/RPG.

Me also... grin
And another thing I would like to say, his these soldiers go through a lot. That is why sometimes you pattern the kind of ur military training in accordance to ur terrain/enviroment. There is these popular saying amongst our troops that when;" you train hard you fight easy". I can't imagine these soldiers after fighting hard they av to dig to get water inside that evil part of the forest, you dig trenches for protection and for training/marksmanship everything under the harsh weather inside Sambisa.

God bless our troops and God's speed......

Yeah, we badly need IFVs. Atleast 200 units. I'll say 500 units in the next 10 years in both tracked and wheeled configuration.

Yeap they are digging for water and that process of them doing is that they are gathering and purifying the water .

That particular place is known because of its oasis so troops to watch these cloth, take there bath and wash military vehicles. I av posted a video where soldiers do stop at that particular, it's a popular stop inside Sambisa forest to get water.

They don't stay over there because there are no trenches or defensive, they only do watching/laundry there and leave.

new offensive against Al Shabaab

Somali National Army (SNA)

Mogadishu, Somalia ( DIPLOMAT.SO) – Somali Federal Ministry of Defense has proposed a new military offensive against Al-Shabaab militants amid increasing insurgent attacks against key government and civilian targets in the country.

According to the Minister of Defence, Gen. Abdulkadir Sheikh Ali Diini, the federal government has devised a comprehensive military strategy towards liberating the remaining Al-Shabaab strongholds in the south and central regions as a precaution against potential terror attacks to disrupt the upcoming electoral process.

Briefing the cabinet during their weekly session in Villa Somalia, Gen. Diini indicated that the SNA, in conjunction with the African Union peacekeeping force in Somalia are preparing to wage an all-out military attack to counter the looming Al-Shabaab threats at this high time of parliamentary and presidential election year.

With so much fighting in northern Nigeria, one would actually hope to see pictures of soldiers in combat than posing.
