ISWAP captured 7 of the SUVs in the ambush operation outside of mongunno.
So basically, guntrucks captured/destroyed; ISWAP:14; NA:10
will need help to adjust the numbers.

So peccavi said something about registering the number of gun trucks ISWAP captures and loses and I have decided to do a rough estimate.
So far this month, ISWAP reported capturing 14 NA&CJTF SUVs(most are guntrucks), 2 from Niger. While I can confirm that NA/NAF have destroyed/captured at least 7(number should be higher because of NAF mostly; they haven't been reporting much.

I assume this is today and at least 2-3 guntrucks destroyed. Please help with the figure. Edakun.
We should be keeping track of some of these things ejhor.

Funny thought, Wyhem just like Tomasz is tracking attacks and incidents in Borno, and Yobe and sometimes Geolocating them. Can you track SUVs and technicals seized or destroyed too?

It may also be useful to tot up here the numbers of soldiers and terrorists regularly reported killed in action.

How can you possibly get an accurate figure for this? I'm sure not every encounter is shared with the public. and given the entire area of operations, you are on a futile journey. no NA 7 , Iswap 14 silliness.

It seems as if NAF is currently testing RQ-11 UAVs.
Source : defense news Nigeria.
According to Jake, the video is at least 6 years old. It was recycled.
Just saw the video ISWAP released on the ambush near Mongunno. The dozens of terrorists attacked would have easily been detected with such drones. The terrorists featured in the attack would be close to 100 if not more.

From that ambush what I deduce was Two Phantom destroyed to IED and SVIED two guntrucks destroyed too, And another captured along side CJTF vehicle.
15 casualties 1 POW

I cant believe Everthing from iswap. That same day they claimed ied attack in mallam fatori which was false the image they released was same what happened in Syria..

The correct amount is $1 billion not $1 trillion.

Sahara reporters and premium times are anti Government. They do this even if facts are on ground they capitalize on the fact that nigerians are lazy about finding out the truth.

It's unfortunate we have to live with this evil men.

Almost end of the week and they are scouting already. Between Thursday and Monday, there might be another attack. The reconnaissance suggests that there will most likely be a VBIED attack involved, directed at the strongest defense position.
Ordinarily, I will suggest that troops shouldn't wait for the attack but to move out now to patrol and clear the area around the town but it will be more reasonable for troops to simply withdraw in good order(after every civilian might have left though) when they eventually launch their attack. When the terrorists leave the town(which they will surely do) troops can them move back in.

The whole essence of the increase in frequency of attacks on towns is to force NAF to reassign aircrafts to defensive operations and also force NA to abandon the offensive.
They are gaining absolutely nothing from the attacks.

CAS ASSURES GOV EL-RUFAI OF NAF’s READINESS TO COMBAT BANDITRY AS HE EMBARKS ON OPERATIONAL TOUR OF UNITS IN KADUNA

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, has assured the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of the readiness of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to rid Kaduna State and the Nation of banditry and all other forms of criminality, working in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies. He made this commitment when he paid a courtesy call on the Governor, today, 17 March 2021, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

Speaking during the visit, Air Marshal Amao informed the Governor of President Mohammadu Buhari's marching order to the Service Chiefs to rid the entire Nation of all criminal elements, a task which, he said, the Services have sworn to execute expeditiously. While thanking the Governor for his support to the NAF in Kaduna State, he commended Governor El-Rufai for his monumental developmental strides as well as his zeal towards solving the security challenges in the State.

In his remarks, Governor El-Rufai thanked the CAS for the visit and singled out NAF personnel in Kaduna for their professionalism, dedication and particularly for their integrity in all dealings with the Kaduna State Government. He went further to state that, for a long time, Nigerians have taken peace and security for granted until the current spate of insecurity afflicting the Nation. He called on all Nigerians to appreciate and support the efforts of the military as they continue to make efforts to keep the Nation safe. According to him, "the security situation could have been worse but for the efforts of our Armed Forces".

The Governor also stated that he, along with Governors of the North West Zone, had agreed to assist the military, particularly in efforts at employing scientific measures towards containing insecurity. On the payment of ransom to kidnappers, the Governor reiterated the resolve of his Government not to pay any ransom to bandits and kidnappers, saying, "we will not pay a penny to any bandit'. He went further to state that despite the threats of kidnapping, schools would continue to remain open. According to him, the decision to keep schools open was taken so as not to allow criminals to dictate the education of children in the State. He also noted that the ability of the military to swiftly respond to kidnapping further gives the State the confidence to keep schools open.

Earlier on, the CAS had toured units in NAF Base Kaduna, where he was briefed on ongoing operations within Kaduna and the North West Zone. The CAS also held an interactive session with officers, airmen and airwomen of the Air Training Command (ATC) and co-located units in Kaduna, where he reiterated the need for jointness and cooperation with sister Services and other security agencies. According to him, "No real success can be achieved if we do not work together. We must also note that there are no individual trophies in the fight against insecurity". Personnel were also reminded to remain disciplined in the discharge of their duties while also assuring them of adequate measures to take care of all their welfare needs.

Present during the visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House were the State Commissioner for Internal Security, Mr Sam Aruwan, other senior government officials as well as Branch Heads from NAF headquarters and some Air Officers Commanding.
