Nah. Kidnappers/Robbers

The biggest store here (off campus) was the focus of the attack. They didn't attack anybody asides the sales boy (he's popular)and one of the barbers in the shop nearby. It was when the latter de follow dem drag they struck him with cutlass and almost severed his leg. He bled to death in the hospital he was rushed to.

Two ended up being kidnapped and this particular death. A few were armed with AKs and those ones were the ones who shot to scare people from the shop because it's a popular convergence point here.

Trouble in the East continues to heat up as Somali Regional President Mustafa Cagjar announces that if TDF make their way to Addis Ababa Somali regional forces will be sent out in defense.

President Mustafe has expressed deep concern about the future of self-government in western Somalia, if Tirgay captures Addis Ababa and the government of Prime Minister Abi Ahmed collapses.

"If you hear that TPLF troops are advancing on Addis Ababa, you will also hear that Somali forces are heading to Addis Ababa to defend themselves from the enemy," said President Mustafe Cagjar.

He said it was not in the interest of the Somali people for Tigray to take control of Ethiopia, as he believed the group would not give up its idea of creating a repressive regime for the country's ethnic groups.

Across the border in mainland Somalia Renewed clashes dim hopes of a credible election.

Several days of fighting between government troops and militia have heightened political uncertainty over the long-overdue national polls. In addition, there is still no agreement on the electoral procedure.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Sufi leader Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan said the central government had deployed more troops from the capital Mogadishu to the town of Guri-El in Galgaduud.

The violence affected medical services in the district, causing massive destruction at two hospitals in the area. As a result, more than 100,000 people fled to neighboring villages.

"We cannot describe the level of destruction by the conflict here in Guri-El district," Anas Abdi, a district commissioner, told DW. "But we are committed to all we can to bring those affected and displaced people back to the district, get assistance and restart their livelihood."

The fight against al-Shabab

The moderate Sufi group claimed it had taken over the area to intensify fighting al-Shabab insurgents in the region.

However, both state and central government officials believe the group's leaders were regrouping in an attempt to influence the regional administration in the upcoming elections.

Somalia's best-trained counter-terrorism forces are being used to fight another force [the Sufi moderate group] that has had great success fighting al-Shabab, according to Jay Bahadur, an independent researcher and journalist who has written a book on piracy in Somalia.

"The president of Somalia's constitutional term limit expired in February, and he has since been using foreign-trained security forces to cling to power," Bahadur said.

Several people have been killed in a car bomb attack at a checkpoint close to the president's residence in Mogadishu. The ultraconservative jihadi group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility.

A suicide car bomb attack killed multiple people in the Somalian capital Mogadishu on Saturday. The Islamist group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack that took place close to the presidential palace.

PMB is not the problem, the fire started a long time ago and different president has refused to give it the attention it deserves.

Let me use a football analogy to bring light to your dark sense of reasoning, if it can even be called REASONING. That way you may just about grasp how ludicrous your suggestion is.

So because former Chelsea Managers Hiddink, Conte, Sarrri and Lampard started badly and wallowed in mediocrity therefore Tuchel current manager of Chelsea SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be top of the Premier League table, Today.

This proposition is a nonsensical one with no be substance WHATSOEVER.

PMB is a comprehensive failure on all fronts, and he offers absolutely nothing from the past, present and future. Six years in power and he is blaming his predecessor that's foolish, he's taken us to the ABYSS, worst President in the entire in history of Nigeria.

When a football manager FAILS we don't keep him to keep failing WE SACK him IMMEDIATELY and get somebody else who can succeed and WIN.

You get time, bro. That guy has to be one of those "16 years of PDP" chorists who are ever willing to excuse all evil where their mentor is concerned.

It has never been this bad. NEVER.

Even during the darkest days of the Jonathan government, insecurity was confined to a few places in the north and you could very easily travel from place to place without fear. These days, nowhere is safe, not even Abuja, with bandits, kidnappers, herdsmen and more roaming virtually unchecked and often overtly supported by the government.

To go from Anambra to Awka dey fear me sometimes, let alone from Anambra to Enugu. And food was extremely affordable compared to now.

Currently, food prices are 3x at the very least and I sincerely have no idea how people on minimum wage eat. Are they getting manna from heaven or something?

Even the crypto we have been using to make money, they have banned it cos how dare we make money when this government is so intent on grinding us all into penury and institutionalizing poverty?

How someone can see all this and much more and still say that the person in charge for the last 6 years who spent decades contesting for the presidency and promising heaven and earth if elected is not to blame for the current state of things is what I don't know.

Is it Osibanjo we should blame? Or Dubailandlord?

Of course not bro. And truthfully I am ashamed to be sharing the same country as you. The problems facing the country right now are unprecedented in scope and gravity, but people like you rather than acknowledging this and demanding for action are determined to support your idols to the bitter end and heap all blame on past governments, while little or nothing is being done to fix these glaring and urgent issues.

Have you gone to market lately and checked prices? What was the dollar rate to naira in 2015? Do you still freely travel as you used to? Look at people in the street: are they more cheerful or angrier and less patient?

Nigeria is tumbling down while people like you keep shouting "16 years of PDP". It has only been 6 years of APC and they have destroyed this country. I just hope Nigeria can still be saved.

You said PMB is not the problem. And yet you say you are not absolving him of blames. Make up your mind bro.

PMB campaigned to end insecurity, eliminate corruption, finish Boko Haram in 3-6 months, stop fuel importation, give graduates stipend and lots of other stuff. How many of these promises has he fulfilled? Since he took over has he made the country better or worse? Are we going forward or backward?

Your PMB was busy since the return to civilian rule campaigning for president and saying he had the cure for all that ails us. And now, instead of the cure he has given us a sickness that might not be curable and the country is more divided than it has ever been since perhaps the civil war.

I still remember the wild fever in the air when he won in 2015. Everyone was expecting Nigeria to turn to Dubai and we all believed he would be very much better than Jonathan. After all, he had been saying so since 1999 and must have all the answers and solutions we need.

And now he has led us into unmitigated disaster and seems totally unconcerned. Yeah, he met a sick country in 2015, but what did he do? He made the sickness so much worse. The cancer in the country has metastasized and now everywhere is in turmoil, no where is safe, people cannot afford to eat, everyone is angry and tribalism is the order of the day.

Nigerians have an extraordinary ability to bear anything. But I fear they could be at the breaking point. And the military overstretched as it is will not contain them.

Saw tweets on how we lost several troops to yellow buckets in years past and was almost moved to tears. The widely known offensive led by Gen. Adeniyi in 2018 was blunted due to the destruction of two of the yellow buckets in his column, at the end of the day a whole Battalion and more perished. It was also reported that Adeniyi also made a lot of errors in the planning stage and during the ambush that led to more losses. Friendly fire from the airforce worsened the situation.

Checking footages from last season's offensive, the military no doubt learnt from that catastrophe, the airforce scouts ahead and clears threat where possible before the Army moves in for clearance, the army also deployed heavy armor like the VT4 tanks and ST1 AFVs with the assault team. One would, have expected the Army to have taken more deliveries of these platforms but they are still not doing so bad with deliveries.

We lost alot of men in that Gen. Adeniyi lead offensive but it's not close to 10% of a battalion. That guy on twitter provides alot of credible information but he also exaggerate alot on the side of the military and also BH.
