Lol, u must be naive if u think the protest and international outcry is what is forcing their military to return power.
Alot of negotiations have been going btw the military and political leaders. Political leader have agree to some request made by the military.

Imagine funding and arming the military only 4 dem to turn against u with thesame weapon. Reason why some African military will remain a militia 4 a longtime.

In 2019, and agreement was struck between the Sudanese Military and politicians, one of the agreement was for the military and civilians to share power.

If not for this coup... Lt. Gen Burnham would have handover to the civilian government lead by Handok .

Instead of the military to handover power, they planned a coup and arrested all Political officers.

If not for the people that come out to protest from the day the coup happened till now, why will the Military wanna hand over?

The coup was successful. Even before the coup the political officers do not have the control of the military. They have been powerless.

What power do they have to fight the military?

The Sudanese people are the winner.

An unspecified number of travellers have been abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

A video released online showed two empty vehicles, which appeared to have been abandoned in the middle of the highway.

An eyewitness travelling along the route had released a short video showing two abandoned vehicles while insinuating that the occupants had been abducted.

In the 31 second video, the person behind the camera could be heard shouting, “Oh my God, they have carried our friends, we are just coming from Kaduna. Today is 21st November 2021, oh my God, the Lord is faithful, thank you for saving our lives.”

Kaduna State Police Command is yet to respond to the video.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to calls and a chat on the video.

Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, an ex-governorship aspirant in Zamfara State, has been shot dead by bandits.

He was killed when bandits blocked the Kaduna-Abuja Highway and opened fire on travellers, on Sunday.

Daily Trust gathered that the incident occurred around 3:30pm close to Rijana along the busy highway.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Rijana, a former FCT Director of Protocol who was also a Zamfara State Governorship aspirant, lost his life in the incident.

A Facebook user, Kabeer Gambo Rigasa, wrote: “ALHAMDULILLAH, ALHAMDULILLAH, Escaped Being Kidnapped Along Abuja To Kaduna Road Around 3:30pm Today.”

Other eyewitnesses said the bandits had operated unchallenged for over an hour.

Daily Trust reports that the Kaduna-Abuja Highway which is dotted by numerous potholes have become a death trap for travellers, who are constantly attacked; killed and abducted.

However, activities of the bandits have been on the decline since a military operation began to flush out bandits in selected forest areas of the state some weeks ago.

A video released online on Sunday evening showed two empty vehicles which appeared to have been abandoned in the middle of the Highway.

An eyewitness travelling along the route had released the short video showing two abandoned vehicles while insinuating that the occupants had been abducted.

In the 31 second video, the person behind the camera could be heard shouting, “Oh my God, they have carried our friends, we are just coming from Kaduna. Today is 21st November 2021, oh my God, the Lord is faithful, thank you for saving our lives.”

The Government should do something about the NYSC camp located along the Kaduna -Abuja Highway.

The bandits have gotten so bold and might attack the camp soon

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, has declared that henceforth, the Nigerian Army will engage bandits and criminals in a war.

Yahaya, who stated during a familiarization visit to 31 Artillery Brigade and Tradoc Minna, Niger State, said the army will be more resolute and decisive in dealing with them.

“I commend them on the job they are doing they should be more resolute and more decisive in dealing with the criminals and we will engage bandits just like in a war. We kill them and bring their weapons. And that is what we will continue to do but there are challenges,” he stated.

He explained that he had travelled around all the states in Nigeria to access the security situation, saying “now that I came here, I have been briefed by my officers on ground”.

On the purpose of the visit, the Army Chief of Staff said, “the essence of the visit is to interact with the troops. To ginger them more to do better. The challenges across the nation have been enormous and we are doing our best. In a war like this, you can have surprises sometimes”

“There are challenges here and there and that’s why we are to address them. As acknowledged by many, there is much improvement as compared to the beginning we are continuing in that drive”.

He also appealed to other services and security agencies as well as relevant stakeholders to assist the Army in the aspect of information sharing.

“These criminal elements are living with us and if we all join hands together, we will eliminate them. Now we are making progress we have improved results. The others (other security agencies) are already contributing with us in the area of information sharing”.

The Chief of Army Staff also commissioned Tradoc Officers Transit Accommodation Military Cantonment Minna.

The social media is awash with huge caches of ammunition being carted away by Boko from the attack and seizure of Baga . We could clearly see the heavy weaponry abandoned ( ERC 90, Gun boats, etc ) not used against the enemy. Initially the NA even denied that Bafa had fallen into the hands of Boko at the time.

Every sector of public service delivery in Nigeria is bediveled with Nepotism, Incompetence, Maladministration, etc, etc, all to different degrees of crass ineptitude.

Why then do we think somehow the military is going to be totally different ❓❓❓ And be the epitome of efficiency, let's be real, this is Nigeria.

Tell me one sector not two just one in public service delivery that meets expected international standards by comparison.

Look at how our soldiers behave in public and they are supposed to to be highly trained. You can't show in the public domain, ineptitude, incapacity , indiscipline and then somehow in the battlefield become the quintessential perfect soldiers. It does not work like that , sorry .

What exactly is delaying the payment and delivery of the remaining 6 MI-35s in Russia? The northwest is boiling and the lunatics are getting stronger every day, the helicopters are ready for pick up and they will perform greatly in that theater yet the government is more concerned with purchasing more OPVs and LSTs for the navy. Just recently we heard rumors about the government willing to purchase another set of helicopters from US for $800million which will take several months before they are delivered when the MI-35s are ready for delivery.

The last time it was spoken about was when a special adviser to the president mentioned earlier this year that the would be delivered this year, we still have less than 40 days to the end of the year sha

The crazy thing about this helicopter from the US is that, they might only give the NAF the go ahead to use it against Boko Haram and ISWAP alone. We will need to take permission from the USA before using it against any other group.

The Russians will sell The Havoc to us and am sure it won't take up to 5 month before they will deliver the few helicopters we will order for.

Gunmen on Monday afternoon killed a military officer when they attacked some soldiers in Awo Mmamma in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State.

In reprisal, military men regrouped, stormed the town and allegedly burnt a hotel, cars, houses and shops.

The incident which happened at Ishieke junction in the area has caused panic in the community.

Many indigenes of the community have fled as soldiers took over the community.

A source told The PUNCH that “some hoodlums attacked some soldiers at Ishieke junction in Awo Mmamma and killed one of them. They zoomed off towards Ihiala in Anambra State. Later soldiers invaded the area and caused havoc in the area by setting a hotel, cars, houses and stalls on fire.”

The police spokesperson for the state command, Micheal Abattam, didn’t respond to a text message sent to him by our correspondent as of the time of filing this report.

Also, the spokesperson for the 34 Artillery Brigade Command, Owerri, Sunday Akuga, didn’t take several calls put to his mobile number.

Bandits have reportedly, returned to the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Sunday, and allegedly abducted some travellers.

Although the Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna could not be reached on inquiry, locals near Katari village told journalists that at about 2 pm, the bandits wielding dangerous weapons blocked the Abuja-Kaduna highway for over 60 minutes and went away with some travellers.

Some travellers recounted their ordeal, saying ” when we heard gun shots we quickly made a u -turn until after 2 hours when the the bandits left that we continued our journey. “

” On our way we saw over ten cars empty. The occupants might have been kidnapped or were able to run into the nearby forests ,for their lives,” they said.

Look at this 2013 report. The kind of havoc Nigeria army unleashed in Baga will never forgotten.

In 2021, this kind of madness still dey happen.

A military struggling in the North West and North East, still dey use their hand pour fuel for fire for the South East.

If any group kill a military personnel, go after the group, if una feel the people of the community knows about the attack, report them to the police, so the matter can be taken to the court and the guilty ones dealt with according to the law.

The NAF has flown 40,000 combat hours since 2015, that's an average of 6700 hours per year. Assuming at least 6 aircrafts are flying every day, each will need to fly for more than 3 hours.
When you consider the number of aircrafts they have operational, it is really not surprising that some of these platforms are now starting to fail and crash. They deserve the capital funding they are getting now and much more.

Cobra helicopter procurement is not rubbish. Nigeria has been presenting the request since GEJ era. PMB administration is rə presenting it again. Nigeria has the cash to pay for 12 Cobras over 2 years at N330bn.

I believe the choppers would be for the NA Air Corp. The NAF like most Air Forces might not be too much interested in operating Combat helicopters at all. I would not be surprised if the NAF never going to get a full squadron of M-35.
