Rare look at the indigenous Egyptian Cobra RPG-7 munition in the 1st picture.

The 2nd picture is of an RPG gunner and his fellow squad mates carrying rockets for him.

Note that Egyptian RPG gunners are not issued rifles.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE FIGHTER PLATFORMS NEUTRALIZE SCORES OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN YUWE

The Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, on 28 April 2018, neutralized scores of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) at YUWE in Borno State through successful air strikes. The mission was conducted following intelligence report that BHTs fighters were hibernating in the settlement. Consequently, the ATF detailed Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft and one Mi-35 Helicopter gunship to conduct Air Interdiction on the BHT location in 2 waves. Overhead the location, the NAF fighter aircraft acquired and attacked the terrorists in the settlement with bombs, rockets and canons while a NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) conducted Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) of the mission. The BDA revealed that at the end of the attack, some of the buildings in the location were successfully destroyed and engulfed in fire while the occupying terrorists were neutralized. Thereafter, some of the terrorists that survived were seen scampering for safety, with various degrees of wounds. The fighter aircraft then attacked the fleeing BHTs in subsequent waves of attack.

I am impressed with the video. Why don't we bring in Special forces to clear such area? SF breach the area and then draw enemy fire. This time, Boko Haram will converge together to return fire. With eyes in the sky, the A-Jet can now come in while the MI-35 provide CAS.

My opinion tho as I feel having a special forces team on the ground will increase BHT casualty.

You will need to have proper helicopter aviation lift squadron and attached attack heliocpter squadron that can airlift 200 men in a go and effectively provide cover for the airlift copter and men while disembarking.......as little as this sounds.....nigerian military cant deploy this fast in 1 hour.

SF team do not need to be in a large number to conduct the operation successfully. The Super Puma, MI-17 and the helicopters transferred from the presidential air fleet can do the transport work.

Dropping the guys won't be an issue.

That's a normal procedure with the Nigerian army. When there is an air strike the whole area is combed and ground battle damage assessment is carried out.

Really? You want to attack a base with just few numbers..... SF doesnt mean you are super man, countries with serious military, all have a dedicated air wing for this type of scenario, any other way......you are playing with fire, because alpha jet wont be able to do shit in such close proximity , and the mi35 has limited payload, trust me you dont want to go the way you suggested......your tactics cants work, will you jist stay in one place and engage them, you will have to deploy in different fronts , else they retreat to another direction

Defence Forces Technical College Graduation Ceremony

The Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC) held its 14th graduation ceremony on Thursday 26th April, 2018 at the Embakasi Garrison, Nairobi. The colorful ceremony was graced by the Commander Kenya Air Force Major General Samuel Thuita and it saw 149 graduands from the three services of the Kenya Defence Forces graduating with Diploma certificates in various academic fields as technicians. DEFTEC is charged with the responsibility of producing quality technical personnel who become instrumental in servicing and maintaining Kenya’s Land, Air and Naval Equipment and Systems, enhancing the operational readiness of country’s equipment.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Kenya Air Force Commander Maj Gen Samuel Thuita who was the Chief Guest expressed his happiness and praised the graduands for their hard work and determination during their studies at DEFTEC. He congratulated them, together with the instructors, reminding them of their important role in the KDF as technicians. He acknowledged the continuous efforts of the College in pursuance of its mission with zeal; which is to train technical and information technology manpower and conduct research and development for Kenya Defence Forces. The college has also remained focused on her Vision to be a Centre of Excellence in Technical Training Driven by Research and Development.

“I am also impressed by the college participation in Research and Development (R& D) activities particularly showcasing innovative products during the annual Nairobi International Trade Fair. In this respect I urge the Commandant and the entire College fraternity to rededicate its effort in ensuring quality in Technical Training and take a leading role in Research and Development, spearheading innovation and inventions that will make our Defence Forces a Centre of Excellence to be revered,” echoed Maj Gen Samuel Thuita.

Maj Gen Thuita further noted that the College has continued to maintain a high level of discipline which has created conducive learning environment to ensure that the graduates from the College are of high standard in professionalism.

The graduands took Technical Oath of Allegiance that should be a constant reminder of their role as technicians. Maj Gen Thuita reminded the graduands to uphold integrity, discipline and practice the professional ethics that they have learnt. He further urged them to re-dedicate in offering first class service to KDF and the people of Kenya, and to avoid complacency and be ready to expand their knowhow and knowledge through continuous education and research.

Maj Gen Thuita reiterated the College strategic plan which aims to modernize its infrastructure, teaching aids and equipment that will propel the College to great heights. “The College proposal to offer Bachelor of Science in ICT under the proposed National Defence University (NDU-K) and the training institutions such as Kenyatta University and Kabete National Polytechnic amongst other institutions is commendable,” he added.

The new graduands are expected to report back to their formations and units, equipped with knowledge and skills that will enable them to perform their roles and duties passionately, diligently and professionally.

The graduation ceremony was attended by General Officer Commanding Eastern Command Major General Benjamin Biwott, Defence Forces Medical Insurance Scheme (DEFMIS) Managing Director Brigadier Fatumah Ahmed, DEFTEC Commandant Colonel Jonathan Makau, Senior Officers from the KDF, family and friends of the graduands.

Limited payload? Mi35? You only require rockets and guns for such mission.

Arm the hind with 4 rocket PODs and guns. That's all.

A-jet has been used to conduct such operation by the NAF.

due to previous experience while under attack from nigeria air force, boko haram members will likely disperse or spread out and conceal themselves from being spotted from above, thus making it harder for pilots on helicopter gunships or jets to spot them.the same pilots may fear flying much lower because of being targeted by small arms fire.but the pilots may gain an advantage if the have troops on the ground, coordinating and pinpointing to them targets to strike or an airborne ISR platform above
