OPERATION THUNDER STRIKE 2: NAF NEUTRALIZES BOKO HARAM VEHICLE AND FIGHTERS IN TUMBUN REGO, PROVIDES AIR SUPPORT TO REPEL INSURGENT ATTACK AT DAMASAK

As Operation THUNDER STRIKE 2 entered the tenth day, yesterday, 12 September 2018, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has recorded significant successes against Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) in air raids conducted at Tumbun Rego on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State. The attacks were conducted in successive waves, involving Nigerian Air Force (NAF) F-7Ni and Alpha Jet combat aircraft as well as Mi-35M Helicopter Gunships supported by Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, resulting in the destruction of a BHT vehicle and neutralization of scores of insurgents.

Characteristic of the insurgents’ tactics, the BHT fighters were initially well camouflaged under foliage and inside abandoned buildings within the settlement. However, timely intelligence enabled the ISR platforms to track and locate one of the BHT vehicles as it was entering the settlement. The vehicle was engaged and destroyed by the attack aircraft. Subsequent waves of attack targeted the scores of insurgents that emerged from their hiding places after the attack on the vehicle. These were engaged in turns by the attack aircraft and neutralized.

In another development, the ATF conducted several ISR and Close Air Support missions throughout the night of 12 and early morning of 13 September 2018 in support of troops of the 145 Nigerian Army Battalion, ensuring that the BHTs’ attack at Damasak was thwarted. Meanwhile, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, was in Maiduguri today, 13 September 2018, to again assess progress of the operation as well as boost the morale of the frontline troops. He seized the opportunity to commend the Comd and personnel of the ATF for their efforts while urging them to sustain the momentum of operations with a view to locating and destroying all remnants of the insurgents within the fringes of Lake Chad and other areas in Northern Borno.

Make I run b4 Oga Aliexpensive radio in ISR guys to come level my location with hell fire missile. Jokes apart we ain't gonna stop sending guys abroad soonest for SF training, though it will be cheaper to conduct such in Nigeria in the long run. Israel most especially are benefiting from this tango, not only financially(though some of the trainings are free safe for troops welfare)but also intelligence wise. I know a DSS personal that was sent for counter terrorism course in Israel, those guys made them simulate different hostage rescue mission, as a precondition for successfully completing the course, guess what? The Israelis documented all their tactics. He said those guys have different manuals for different kind of operations and some of which are gotten from the most brilliant minds of operatives that come for such trainings, they keep updating their tactics thanks to such tangos . Don't be surprised to know that they can even offer an arm of service free training to some selected Intellectuals in the military, they know what they're doing nothing goes for nothing. For me Nigeria ought to have an odoctonous for SF training by now.
Afi Joke. From my post you quoted you'd see I said I have no issues with learning TTPs from the best, my problem just lies with the "mass" that travels.

Sit-at-home: Army, Police, Navy, DSS, others take over ONITSHA
Sit-at-home: Army, Police, Navy, DSS, others take over Onitsha
— 13th September 2018
Jeff Amechi Agbodo, Onitsha

Following the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for Friday in protest against killings, arrest and detention of its members, and against military Operation Python Dance 3 in the South-East, security has been beefed up in Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra State.

The joint team of security operatives in the state comprising, the Army, Navy, Police, DSS and other agencies, moved in long convoy in a show of force in Onitsha, warning against breach of the peace.

The fierce looking security operatives were seen moving along major roads and streets at the Bridgehead, Upper Iweka, Awka road, Old market road down to Main Market as well Nkpor and Ogidi area of the state.

One of the leaders of the joint security operative team, who declined to be identified, said the essence of the show of force was to give members of the public confidence, to assure their safety and to make sure the call by IPOB to sit-at-home is ignored.

He urged members of the public to open their shops and go about their businesses as their security is guaranteed, warning members of IPOB to desist from harassing, intimidating and forcing members of the public to obey their sit-at-home order which he said was unlawful, saying that anybody seen forcing people to obey the order would be arrested and prosecuted.

He further said that about 13 members of Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), headed by Chief Ralph Uwazuriike in Biafran uniform, were arrested in a vehicle along Ifititedunu in Dunukofia local government area of the state, as they were on their way to their office.

Apart from the joint security force, there were also police patrol vehicles moving around and positioned in strategic places in Onitsha to deter persons that may cause the breach of peace in the city.

The mobilization of security agents to the southeastern city is likely in response to the road march and sensitization of members of IPOB in Onitsha on Wednesday.

Still doesn't make sense: the same company that did SuperHind would have done SuperHIP and SuperBMP. In fact, a few ot your MI-171 have been upgraded to SuperHIP by Paramount when they bought ATE, if memory serves.

For bmp2 after tests they found that the berezhok upgrade was better for algerian needs and for mi171 heard that they got some technical problems for the superHIP upgrade (no official info about why the contract was cancelled)

But now for algerian Mi171 , they are upgrading them this months at Ulan-Ude Aircraft Plant , Russia
