Zoharariel:issorite that was how Ghadafi and Saddam felt invisible because they felt they've stocked enough Russian war/missiles today the rest they say is history. Iran know they can't in anyway withstand America's super firepower, the blockade will be terrible. They want to see if the US will be forced to negotiate with them just like North Korea did. but unfortunately, the US have being finding excuse to invade and loot their resources ever since they took over the US embassy. Trump with his business man mentality is ever ready to give the green light for an all out strike once he has accessed all parameters (especially the oil). PS: las las Nigeria will benefit of the US attacks Iran because oil might hit a whooping $200/barrel |

There was a disagreement between soldiers and policemen while Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was inaugurating some projects in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, on Tuesday. The vice-president visited Borno to inaugurate some of the projects executed by the outgoing administration of Kashim Shettima. Among the projects were schools, GSM Center and facilities for displaced children in the state. However, while the vice-president, Kashim Shettima, the governor and Usman Durkwa, the deputy governor, were inaugurating a school along Bukumkutu road in the state capital, security operatives attached to them disagreed in public. Confusion broke out after Mike Alechenu, garrison commander, operation Lafiya Dole, prevented the vehicles attached to Durkwa to join the convoy of other dignitaries. As the lead vehicle in the convoy of Durkwa attempted to move, Alechenu used a stick to smash its windscreen. He also used the stick to hit the driver of the white Hilux van conveying security operatives before ordering his men to deflate the tyres of any of the deputy governor’s vehicles that attempted to “move an inch”. Soldiers were seen attaching knives to their Ak-47 riffles in order to comply with directives of their commander. Alechennu also threatened to handcuff the aide-de-camp of Durkwa, an assistant superintendent of police (ASP), who had appealed for calm. “This is a matter of security, you don’t tell me what to do. I’ll bundle and handcuff you if you move an inch from this place,” he warned. Consequently, junior police officers blocked the road in protest. “You are here trying to intimidate us when you are running away from your responsibility of fighting Boko Haram,” an angry police officer said. It took the intervention of some operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) for the situation to be brought under control. https://www.thecable.ng/confusion-as-army-commander-attacks-convoy-of-borno-deputy-governor-during-osinbajos-visit |

ugo4u: Never happen! Iran is too strong-they have supersonic Ashm specifically designed to kill super carriers like the Onyx SS N26,heavy weight average 3 tons at Mach 2+ ,fire and forget sea skimmers and the Gulf is simply too narrow to manouvre huge 1000 ft long 'bird farms,' especially in an attacks with less than 60 seconds warning. IIRC,the Iranians even have their own versions. Frankly, ishyt has changed for the Chosenites-the US may even go to war against them and their proxies to preserve peace. 2 Likes 1 Share

I just gave you some incontrovertible proofs on how Iran hacked & commandeered Amerika's useless drones twice and you're still comparing Iran to Libya? Oh Satan! ugo4u: 1. The financial cost of a campaign against Iran will be humongous, even with the Saudis sponsorship. 2. Such a war would end in a pyrrhic victory for the US, if a victory is secured at all. Yes,the US would eventually need boots on ground, and they will end up losing men in droves. 3. If by some freak twist of fate, the US manages to secure a victory, the fallout from the collapse of Iran would push the middle East into full blown chaos. With Iranian influence eradicated, jihadist groups and militant organizations will be running haywire all over the place. Migration into Europe will more than quadruple, further distabilizing the Eurasian continent and leading to internal political crisis within European states, driven by migration issues. 4. Iran has a military agreement with Russia, with Russian backing,Iran can probably withstand an armed conflict against the US. 5. A war against Iran may be the catalyst that leads to the end of the 2nd Peace that has lasted over 70 years. With the US distracted by a war in the middle East, rivals nations may use the opportunity to open other frontiers of conflict. Especially in red zones such as the South China Sea, Eastern Europe and the Korean peninsula. In short, no one wants a war between the US and Iran. Not even the US want that. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Military evacuates another Borno community By Uthman Abubakar, Maiduguri | Published Date May 22, 2019 5:52 AM The military yesterday commenced the evacuation of the residents of Sabongari, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State to IDP camps in Damboa. Sabongari is 34 kilometres from Damboa on the 100-kilometre Damboa-Biu Road. Maj. Gen. Benson Akinroluyo, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, confirmed the evacuation to newsmen on phone. He, however, did not explain whether this was part of a military operation against Boko Haram in that axis. No separate source would also say whether the evacuation was part of such operation. As of the time of filing this report, about 20 truck-loads of the community residents had, according to impeccable sources, arrived Damboa in the first batch of the evacuation which commenced this morning. The sources said women evacuees and children were crying as they left their homes and other articles they could carry along in a hurry as they left. It could be recalled that early last April, Jakana community, 20 kilometres from Maiduguri along Maiduguri-Damaturu road was evacuated to pave way for military operation against Boko Haram in that axis of the state. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/military-evacuates-another-borno-community.html |

Sadam Hussein didn't deal with Iran. Iraq with all the support they got and a more powerful military invaded Iran. Even though his military had an advantage cause they attacked first, his army was kicked out of all Iranian territory in 1982. in fact he was the one that was begging for the war to end which Ayatollah was rejecting. Iraq was supported by all the Arabs country, NATO,USA and USSR, with all that support they struggled against an Iranian military that's not as powerful as it is now. I'm sure the Iranians are not stupid, they won't attack the USA first, if the USA attack them, the war won't end in Iran. I expect Iran to order Hezbollah to attack Israel, and Iran will also send ballistic missiles to UAE and Saudi Arabia, those two country should be within the Iranian missile range. And I see the USA fighting alone, I don't think NATO will join them in the war. Trump has no excuse from backing out of that deal, trump is just Netayanhu boy. 3 Likes 1 Share |

BabaOwen:Yes... this war aint a good idea, especially for the US...As long as US attacks first, they may be seen as the war mongers and countries who already hate them will back Iran... And if care is not taken ww3 begins kenan And if us succeed in distabilizing Iran, the consequences will be unimaginable, terrorist will increase three times of what it is now... The US may re experience times three of 911.. and as for Nigeria, it may affect us negatively... With more terrorist coming down to fight.... Some countries already see USA as oppressors. |

BabaOwen:which nation contributes the largest troops to NATO? Where do you keep Israel and the UK?? Iran won't be stupid enough to attack the United State, trump has state it repeatedly that he doesn't want a war with Iran, but the U.S won't fail to attack if Iran try's anything funny I read earlier someone talking about new weapons developed by the Iranians that person probably thinks the U.S doesn't update it's Arsenal Iran will be severely dealt with all its major infrastructure destroyed, it's economy it's military all destroyed. The highest Russia can do is supply arms to Iran, any direct confrontation leads to ww3. |

Faculty14:Iran won't attack the USA, and the USA won't attack Iran. If there is war, the whole gulf states including Israel will be affected. Thousands or millions of people will die. Not only Persians will die, American soldiers,Jews, Arabs will all be affected. It will also cost the USA billions of dollars. So I am so sure none of those countries want this to happen except Netayanhu. |

AMERICA AND IRAN. but when you mention NIGERIAN ARMY in a way they dont like - boom! everyone attacks you!!! this is so sad and painful 4 Likes |

Zoharariel: Forgot to mention earlier-as I mentioned military academies regularly war game;a much misunderstood exercise by fan girls in this noisy monkey house. Guess the results of the USN/Iran war game in the Persian Gulf done when the US didn't even factor in the many Iranians Ashms and only high speed suicide motor boats? American officers have acknowledged that they have been studying anew the lessons from a startling simulation conducted in August 2002. In that war game, the Blue Team navy, representing the United States, lost 16 major warships — an aircraft carrier, cruisers and amphibious vessels — when they were sunk to the bottom of the Persian Gulf in an attack that included swarming tactics by enemy speedboats.https://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/12/washington/12navy.html The OPFOR commander was USMC Lt Gen Paul van Riper-look at that ribbon rack! He was a 41-year veteran, both enlisted and commissioned, serving everywhere from Vietnam to Desert Storm. Van Riper attended the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, The College of Naval Command and Staff, Army War College, and the Army's Airborne and Ranger Schools. On the 'net we all have opinions but when guys like this give theirs we should really listen. 1 Like 1 Share

discussing about the army commander harassing a deputy governor in a war ravaged state like Borno is a legitimate discussion in this thread. the garrison commander said (in his own words) "This is a matter of security, you don’t tell me what to do. I’ll bundle and handcuff you if you move an inch from this place" there is obviously a legitimate reason based on intelligence why he has made such statement to the Deputy Governors aides, with respect to the security of the Vice President and State Governor. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE TOPIC OF DISCUSSION IN THIS THREAD!!!! BabaOwen and any other person with dissenting views, don't let anybody shut you down - online or offline. Nobody commenting here owns Nairaland. Nobody!!!! God bless the Nigerian Military. by the way; theres the propaganda video recently released of terrorists interviewing then shooting Nigerian soldiers (navy and army). May their selfless souls rest in peace, may God give their families the strength to bear their loss and most importantly MAY THERE RISE A YOUNG GENERATION OF NIGERIANS WHO ARE NOT SYCOPHANTS (LIKE WE SEE A LOT OF THEM ON THIS THREAD) AND ARE BOLD TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT CONCERNING THE WELFARE OF NIGERIANS CIVIL AND MILITARY 6 Likes 1 Share |
