Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State
has warned that members of his
All Progressives Congress, APC,will
not vote in tomorrow’s election if
they do not see result sheets at
polling centres.
He also said that an alleged
renewed upsurge in militancy in
parts of the state ahead of
tomorrow’s governorship and
state Houses of Assembly
elections was as a result of the
alleged quest by Mrs. Patience
Jonathan, the First Lady, to control
the affairs of the state and further
mastermind the rigging of the
elections in favour of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP.

The governor, yesterday in Port
Harcourt, at a stakeholders
meeting, said: “We will not vote if
we don’t see result sheets. Ask the
Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, officials for the
result sheets. If they fail to
produce them, then form a human
ring around the INEC officials and
together with the security men
escort the ad-hoc staff to the local
government headquarters and
lodge your complaints. But make
sure nobody votes in any unit
where the original result sheets
are not produced. We will not
accept photocopies.
“We will do what we did in our
village; we call it the Obima
formula. Our youths usually lock
down the village. No one comes in
and no one goes out. I am
pleading that INEC should not
endanger the lives of its staff by
holding on to the original result
sheets.
“Don’t allow any INEC official to
leave your unit or your village if he
or she fails to do the right thing.
This time nobody will write fake
results and go scot free. Don’t
allow voting to commence until
you see the result sheets. And also
ensure that the results of your
units are announced and pasted
by the INEC officials before they
leave,” he said.
The governor also said he had
assurances from security agencies
that adequate security
arrangement had been put in
place to secure lives and property
during and after the elections.

voters must demand to see the result sheet before voting commences. it's only fair it is shown to them.

Result sheets must be present in all the polling units in River state this Saturday,to guarantee a peaceful poll.

Similar advice cost apc Rivers and Imo in the last election. Amaechi and Rochas were quick to make their supporters return home when they noticed that the process is being compromised, and this is how they(Amaechi and Rochas) in turn played into pdp' hands on that day. Don't fall cheaply for pdp when they set their traps for you; they sure know how to provoke you and take advantage of your reaction. They'll surely provoke Amaechi by putting forth what they know he won't take and this is how they get to rig the election.


My suggestion: tell your supporters to vote, stay there to count and defend their votes. If fake result sheets are provided and results filled-in, ask ur agents to sign along side the inec guys and get a copy from the PU. You can present this in court when the need arises.

What's the essence of staying under the sun and at the end of the day your vote not being counted?
Of course its better to stay in your house and enjoy your A.C

I think whatever d Inec officials r asked to d by Inec, they should do, n whatever d electorates r advice to do, they should adhere,
Don't follow these politicians o, u go die them go still dey waka.

I think it should be in the electoral act.The REC OF Edo,said before voting must commence at any polling unit,the presiding officer, must show every everybody present the result sheet, ballot papers and other voting materials. He even said,that there is no way you will be given ballot papers at the INEC headquarters without result sheets.If you get to a polling unit,and there is ballot papers without result sheets just know that a politician has hijacked it.

So this Governor is yet to be treated?

Please disregard this statement by Amaechi...go out and vote the candidate of your choice, don't disenfranchise yourself / get arrest for disrupting an electoral process.

Vote, wait for votes to be counted if you so wish...political party agents are assigned to each polling unit and would be the ones to sign any result sheet.

If you are a party agent and the result sheet is not available do not sign on any document. Make sure the matter is reported to your Political Party Supervisor at the ward level
