Hello Doc, I've been battling dental sensitivity for about 3 years now. Saw a dentist in March and he did a desensitization after scaling and polishing. Problem is that it persists and hasn't let up even though I use a desensitizating toothpaste (sensodyne). Pls what do you suggest? |

omowumi19:Your gums are likely inflamed. You need professional cleaning in the dental office because as it is, your brush alone is not able to remove the deposits on your teeth that are causing irritation of your gums |

Saao: There are different causes of mouth odour, the most common of which is tartar accumulation on the teeth. Have you had a dentist check it out for you before? Better still, have you had professional cleaning done before? This may just be what you need. |
Re: Free Dental Advice by realdentist(f): 11:52pm On Jun 16, 2015 |
Ladiva: Is the sensitivity generalised or limited to a particular tooth? IF it's limited, it could be due to a cavity or a crack on a tooth. Maybe you should have it checked again. Cracks at the neck of your tooth (due to wrong method of brushing) can also lead to generalised sensitivity. In this case, sensodyne alone will not help, as those cracks/holes will need to be filled. |

Hi I just got my premolars extracted as the first step towards getting braces. The extraction of the right one went well but the extraction of the left one was tougher so the orthodontist was not very gentle. My problem now is that the canine next to it hurts like crazy plus the gum close to it feels kinda loose unlike the other side which is firm and is far less painful. Is this pain on the canine normal after an extraction? Also, is the flesh on the gum supposed to be loose ? Thanks |

Bad breath odours vary, depending on the source or underlying cause. Some people worry too much about their breath even though they have little or no mouth odour, while others have bad breath and do not know it. Because it is difficult to assess how your own breath smells, you can ask a close friend or family member to confirm your breath. READ MORE AT www.busygisting.com |

Daeyou:Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride-containing toothpaste. Floss at least once a day. Get a dental check up done every six months. You're good to go! |
