And nope, Egyptians aren't Arabs. They just want to belong and lie to themselves they are not Africans. Some don't consider themselves Africans hence the Arab lineage.

It's the close proximity to Arabia and the conquering of North Africa by the Arabians and the sociocultural change to Islamic and Arabian culture that's what makes people call them Arabs and also an easy excuse for them to deny their African heritage. They just hate the African negativity from other races hence isolate themselves from the rest of Africa and claim pan Arabian world. North Africa think of themselves no longer as Moors(Africans) but as either Arabs or Berbers.

It's same generalisation some people call Iranians Arabians which in actuality they're Persians. Or adding Turkey to Arabian world.

Egyptians have a very diverse heritage being the centre of the world at a time. They were conquered by many empires or civilization from the Greeks (Alexander the Great) to the Romans, Arabs, Persians, Ottoman (Turks), to British.

Egyptians have varying skin colour, be it dark, black(Nubians), brown, light, or white. They have all shades of the color spectrum.

One fact which many use to make claims of Egypt being European/Aryan descent is mainly cos of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. Ptolemaic Dynasty was the Era of Rulership of Egypt by the descendants of Ptolemy. Ptolemy was one of the top generals of Alex. After Alex's death his empire was split and Ptolemy rose to ascendancy inheriting the Rulership of Egypt. Iconic Greek monarchs who ruled Egypt was Cleopatra and her Brother Ptolemy XIV as Pharaohs.

Since Cleopatra is Greek and ruled Egypt for some time including other Greek rulers some assume the white population in Egypt must be their descendants. While this may be true to an extent, Egypt still had indigenous white people who look European even before their conquest from Alexander the Great and other European powers.
After all, they're situated in the Mediterranean. You don't expect them all to be dark skinned or typical African looking.

Still scientific studies shows present day Egyptians still largely retain DNA of ancient Egyptians and have not really been affected by cross breeding and the likes, because In actuality, they had all those innate characteristics all along.
