The emerging ruling party came on the supposed ground of change, which possibly implies stepping away from the way things are being done to another way. At the inception of apc one of the issues which apc anchored on is giving positions on merits instead of zoning, which is why they fiercely criticised the zoning method of pdp. Pdp as a party has adopted this policy of zoning just to integrate all the vested interest in the country and party. Owing to the way this zoning formular has affected meritocracy in the Nigerian polity, any change in the polity is expected to tackle this issue of zoning political positions. Now apc has adopted pdp's way of doing things by zoning of political positions, where then is the change?

Zoning is a proven formula for a multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria so it must be continued.
