Former Nigerian international Etim Esin has slammed a 100 million naira (around $650,000) defamation claim on ex-Nigeria skipper Augustine 'Jay Jay' Okocha after the former Bolton man accused him of stealing a mobile phone.

Lawyers acting on behalf of Esin said they have served Okocha a legal notice after it was alleged that he accused Esin of stealing a phone during a Christmas Eve party held in Okocha's Lagos home last year.

Esin, who played professionally in Belgium, said Okocha wrongly accused him of theft in the presence of his wife and daughter.

Okocha has been served a seven-day ultimatum to apologise publicly for defaming Esin and also pay the sum of 100 million naira as damages for slander, battery and wrongful detention.

Listen,Jay-jay,minus his on the filed abilities,is not a good person.I've heard stories of how self-serving he is.This latest incident goes to confirm such tales.
He is no role-model for anybody.I pray Etim humiliates him back in court.
True,Etim messed up his life,but he is Jay-jay's elder and deserves respect.What okocha did is nothing short of repulsive.
