Sasha ain't bad. She's good on delivery but needs to improve on her syncopation (she could've easily worn the crown but sounds too bland/ordinary to be taken serious atimes). Kel is very promising. Can't judge for now. Bouqui's good. But her delivery needs some overhaul. She tends to rap too fast and goes off-beat atimes. Blaise cuts it overall for me. She's the most consistent, skilled and constantly hones her craft. |
Re: Who Is The Queen Of Nigerian Rap? by DBR: 10:53am On Feb 04, 2009 |
BOUQUI, BLAISE, KEL=BBK The three hottest. Sasha?,,,nahhhh, more hype than she delivers. I'll like to see a BBK album with some male cronners on the hooks. Productions by JJags, Cohbams, Cabasa, Jahmix and the likes. oNe |

Most of yall are getting this post twisted. It states who is the Queen of Nigerian rap and not who is the most talented or shows the most lyrical promise. The crown goes without a doubt to Sasha. Lyrically I feel she spits like Eve sometimes. But in terms of striking a balance between being a rapper and a sensusal symbol, she's on point. You would wanna be looking at her even when her delivery is at best above average. Let's not kid ourselves, as a female rapper you can only go so far on your lyrical ability. Good rapper or not as long as long as you are a woman you need some feminine ingredients to balance your rapping. The hip hop world will never judge your rap prowress based on ability alone. Jean Grae is one of the illest females out there. The props remain underground simply because she is not selling that female perspective of hip hop. So if you female and u rap like Nas, Big Pun and Jadakiss combined, you will only get that was nice at best! Look what happened to Da Brat with her tom boy image. Blaise and Kel show more promise lyrically but do not have albums. And do not have personalities to go with their rap careers. They are too ordinary, trying to play it safe cuz they are on the come up or something. Bouqui for me is the most confused of the lot. All her songs sound the same. No depth. And plus a fake ass nasal accent irritant to boot. SASHA is the first lady no question! |

Re: Who Is The Queen Of Nigerian Rap? by Nobody: 2:47pm On Feb 04, 2009 |
Kel's is most def d best in terms of lyrics, i hear her free style and she was doing like 300 bars. She is damn good like Da Brat Sasha is just too wack n lyrically she is the odd one out of the group. She is a rap queen wannabe. B.O.U.Q.U.I is good but are lyrics sometimes are let down, though she got most potentials amongst the lot Kemistry - Her delivery and passion in the Jimmy Jatt song was a surprise to me, she is definitely good, she needs some more grooming and she will go place |
