This government idea of subsidy removal is fraudulent. It simply amounts to putting the burden of of a corrupt system of fraudulent subsidy on the Nigerian people.

The idea of subsidy has always being rediculouse. Subsidy on petrol each year shouldn't be more 300M, highest 500M.

Now this is the reason why it's rediculous and rubbish. Because crude oil was selling at high price, the price to import petrol is higher. But this same high price is what allows Nigeria to make gargantuan stupendous obscene revenue in crude oil sales which dwarfs over a thousand times the expenses we incur from importation of petrol. But what ordinarily should be an advantage, a huge plus, with their voodoo economics, they've turned into disadvantage and huge burden on the shoulders of Nigeria.

Okay now, see what has happened now the oil price has come down: the amount of subsidy needed has come down, but see what has happened to our revenue. They are so depleted that the value of Naira has come down, that Nigeria is having problems keeping up with recurrent expenditure. Some states are already having problems paying their salaries.

So why now should subsidy be a problem? You wonder. High crude oil prices is a big plus for Nigeria. The small inconvenience of subsidy that comes with is miniscule compared to the huge revenue that comes with it. But the evil PDP has turned logic upside down so as to systematically dupe Nigerians billions of dollars for sixteen years.

am glad GMB is there lets c how he will do it. OBJ wit all his gra gra could not do nothing.....opefully your messiah will.....
to resolve this problem once nd for all is for govr to hands off oil refinery business...let them formulate policies to guide the industry....nit as a player

How long has this woman being coordinating minister for economy (more or less the prime minister?) why didn't she do it? Is she admitting that the government she is part is weak?

She couldn't have done it the way she wanted because of the politics involved.
Majority of the cartel are the president's men; they dined and dice always.

The message is coded in that she believes the President elect is not as weak or committed to all those people like the out going president

Remember when she alluded to $10.8B missing, the president rejected even her own submission. What did that tells you?

why couldn't she advise GEJ Mofo

[b]She can't because both her & GEJ ar part of d rot. Members of d cartel ar PDP fronts, cronies, govt sponsors & scions of PDP chieftains.
WHAT MOST NIGERIANS DON'T KNOW IS DAT D SUBSIDY BAZAAR TOOK A TURN 4 D WORSE WHEN AHMADU ALI BECAME PPPRA CHAIRMAN. Prior to his appointment in 2009 there were just 49 importers. Ahmadu Ali single-handedly raised d number frm 49 importers to 140 between 2009 & 2011 & d subsidy payment ballooned frm N421.5b in 2009 to 2.19 trillion in 2011. One of those arraigned by EFCC in d subsidy scam was AHMADU ALI'S SON, Mamman Nasir Ali who runs Nasaman Oil Services. Another is Mahmud Tukur, who runs Eterna Oil and Gas Plc & is d SON OF ALHAJI BAMANGA TUKUR, former PDP chairman.
dis monumental rape of our national patrimony is true to character of d utterly corrupt, despicable & dysfunctional PDP's way of allocating import licences & sharing our national wealth among cronies, fronts, govt sponsors & party chieftains..

Why has APC supporters chosen to reason backwards. GEJ govt has ended and what you and i need is good governance. She pointed to in-coming govt what will hinder his govt. She cannot do anything about it except the senate tackle it through the constitution. if it starts hindering Buhari's govt i will tongue lash him.

All this while she knows where the problem actually is.

You sounds like a pathetic failure, is the diff btw 4 n six years a justification?? You just need to move from paranoid. All she has said is a show of how bad the relationship btw diff organs of govt under their watch. Meanwhile, she need not tell anyone what to do, if Buhari on his own part failed after 4 yrs, he ill b voted out as well. The era of following politicians an political parties like religion is over. So you people should admit it for once that you have failed Nigerians. The good stories about Nigeria always starts with BEFORE., while some of you are here dancing and jubilating behind failures.

This is what you get when contraceptives fail.

This woman is not serious rara.

Btw, that's what we've been shouting. Remove subsidy and let's manage the situation till our refineries are put in place by Nigeria engineers. We have the skills and resources. Fuel subsidy must go and that's the only 'something' Buhari can do about the oil cartel.

Naija must be great osmiley

There is one thing that i believe you missed.

Assume an analogy like this, you make an order for bread for your family. The supplier brings the bread asking for N500 per loaf when the originlal price is N300, you say the price is high, your family who will eat it must pay for it by themselves.

Now, the main question is, will the supplier sell to your family at N300 after you refused?

We cant ask our government to remove subsidy, because we will directly pay for it. In this case we ask them to check the system tighten it up so that marketers wont just be adding up fake unverified scam claims and getting paid for supplying nothing like its been done now.

Who are the cartel members? Are they not PDP cronies and sponsors.

Okonjo should STOP this hypocritic style of theirs. They made the cartel what it is today and she's asking Buhari to deal with them. If they are serious then they should do something now and stop bothering the incoming president with their mess.

God will help Buhari. God bless Nigeria

Dangote is building a refinery ...will be ready by 2017..only a foolish govt will build refineries after messing up the earlier ones....the best thing is tp sell off these refineries....OBJ did on 2007 only for yardua to revise it.
if you buy car for your son nd he scattered it will you go nd buy another... one or tel him to buy with his money.......building refineries by govt is a waste....sell off these damn things...
so let's be honest a responsible govt will let her citizen buy petrol @140/liter( if the 2012 subsidy removal worked) so we would be paying that high till 2017, later Dangote will now turn into a cabal of himself, so what you are saying is our govt can't be sane to put sane people to run our refineries or what are you trying to say, were these refineries not built by Nigeria govt of the past and managed?? if our president is saying that there are people too strong for him why not mention their names, let the whole masses know them then let's see how it will go. let's face fact GEJ admin. never had the mind to serve Nigerians let's be honest

see let's stop this subsidy issue, first prof. Tam David-west did challenge them to a debate then did they agree?? secondly I remember sanusi speaking from two mouth about the subsidy. for a sane govt what they should have done is looked for a lasting solution, and the best was to get the refineries functional to full capacity by so we would have even made money from exporting refined products, just check the price of transportation now that fuel increased cause of scarcity, do you consider the effect it would have caused on price of goods if petrol was to sell for 140/lit till now?? do you consider the suffering the masses would be now. lastly let's be honest if there is stable power and you remove subsidy it will not affect people that much, but imagine you will buy fuel to run your gen, fuel your car and other things, guy check am out its nit reasonable
