Since the white man left us the military instituted corruption and with the advent of oil production, greed set in.
From a resourceful nation with groundnut pyramids we are now known as a criminal, Boko haram, kidnapping, corrupt, 419, militant and cantankerous nation.
The discovery of oil really messed up Nigeria. The thirst for quick wealth devoured our morals. Most of the structures we have today were built decades ago. What have our leaders done with our oil money so far? Still no hope of stable power or feul in 2015....in summary, the country has been deliberately mismanaged for corrupt purposes.

YOU ARE TALKING ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. CORRUPTION REDUCED DRAMATICALLY AFTER INDEPENDENCE. That is why we have the things we have today - expressways, widespread electricity, thousands of schools, hundreds of universities, power plants etc etc. THINGS YOU TAKE FOR GRANTED. YOUR PRECIOUS ''white man'' ruled you from 1897-1960, ie 63 years, and left you with NO expressways, NO universities, NO power plants, malnutrition, and a literacy rate of 8% (compared to 74% today). He was SO CORRUPT that he made BILLIONS exporting your resources for 63 years, and BANKING THE PROCEEDS ABROAD. THAT IS WHY NIGERIA WAS AN UNDERDEVELOPED NATION - A BUSH IN ALL BUT NAME at independence.

LESSON: THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS FOR INDEPENDENCE AND BLACK RULE. WITHOUT INDEPENDENCE YOU WOULD BE IN YOUR VILLAGE, FARMING OR TAPPING PALM WINE LIKE THOSE ILLITERATE, PEASANT PRODUCTS OF COLONIALISM - YOUR GRANDPARENTS.

Did anybody noticed that the ocean was still blue by then? But now the water have turned blackish.

The ocean was blue because there were no industries created by your white ogas, so there was no pollution, and your grandparents were in the village planting corn and dancing with masquerades. The water has ''turned blackish'' today because African governments created modern industries for ungrateful dumbitos like you to work, earn a decent wage, and not have to hunt rabbits and work as tailors and labourers like your grandparents in the village.

The british introduced corruption via its greed on hemorrhaging its colonies resources.

I wish say Oyibo colonize us reach 2005...
That is because you lack a working brain. There is NOTHING in those pictures which, if one were to snap the same scenes today, we would not see a better and more modern rendition, courtesy of black rule. That first picture of Lagos is actually a study in colonial neglect and thievery. After 63 years in power you have one or two highrises, and that is what you wish they remained till 2005 for? To add one more highrise? (one every 25 years) Dumbito!

Don't mind these colonised foools. Today a 'corrupt' black govt may siphon 30% of national earnings and use the other 70% to build a few things. But under colonialism it was more like 95% siphoned annually and deposited in Europe by the colonialists. That was why at independence, Nigeria was a BUSH with no running water, electricity for just a tiny few, no expressways, not one single university, and malnutrition rife, despite the colonialists exporting thousands of tonnes of cocoa, tin, iron ore, palm oil, rubber, coal, annually for 63 years. Yet these colonised dunces say they wish the white man had ruled them longer. Colonial brainwashing will make you love your oppressor even when it's clearly against your interests...... tufiakwa.

the actions of the US AND CHINA today threatens all of humanities through pollution, fracking, burning of fossils and coals. these are more worrisome issues to man than the picturesque images they beam via CNN and others.
we were doing just fine before the white man set sail to plunder and destroy God's earth.
i think most of this folks, education is lacking
