According to a captive recently freed from Boko Haram, the terrorist group usually had inside information on the operations of the Nigerian Army.
Teenager, Zahra Umoru said that the terrorists always knew when the soldiers were advancing on them and had enough time to flee with their captives before the troops arrived.
“When they captured us, we were taken to a house in Gwoza. When they heard soldiers were in Madagali, they took us to Peta where we lived under trees," Umoru told Journalists at Malkohi, a camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Yola, Adamawa state.
"We don’t know how Boko Haram gets its information, but they always know when the soldiers are coming. If there’s something like that, they just tell us to pack our things and run. The night we left Gwoza, we just finished cooking, but we were not allowed to eat the food; we were just packed and left,” she added.
Nigerian soldiers have rescued almost 1000 women and children after an operation in Sambisa Forest, a notorious Boko Haram stronghold.

even those of us in Yemen already know this. Nigeria has no army. Yemeni Rebels are a more formidable force.

Buhari should at least retrench about 1000 top military officers all round when his govt comes in.

The impunity is just overwhelming

Reason why many of our soldiers are killed daily because they go into this attacks only to be ambushed by already prepared terrorists!

Guess they have enough moles in the system... I wonder how some people could play politics with human life...

It worries me more to think that some military leaders are using terrorism to tap money from the government..

Internal sabotage in the army was what prolonged the battle against boko haram.

Its simply the informants in the Force. But all their tricks is failing and soon, they will be exposed.

I dont sense internal sabotage from army, boko haram gets info about troop movement from the villagers (informants) they have all over the NE.

This is one of the reason why defeating Boko Haram was very hard. That's why the Nigerian Army couldn't make much stride in their quest to nullify BH's carnage.

Some powerful forces in the North raised BH.

Reconnaissance.

Simples....all Boko needs to do is send scouts to watch army movements.

It is easier for guerrilla style forces to monitor movements of organized armies....than it is for the army to monitor them.Because armies are easily visible. (Ask the Americans about the Vietnamese).

That is why Nigeria needs to improve its unconventional warfare capability.....Fight Boko on their ground so to speak.

A guerrilla force does not need infiltrators. All they need are a few informants in the local population....guys who call Boko central to tell them about Army movements....scouts if you will.

I said Boko Haram had the support of the Islamic North!

They have members in the Army, police, Immigration, Civil Service, Emirs, Imams, PDD, APC, and what have you.

No government can win a war if the members of her army are also members of the enemy camp!

Perhaps, it was Jonathan that was calling Boko Haram to inform them of the moves of the Nigerian army!

ONE Nigeria can burn to ashes for all I care.

When we are saying Nigeria is fraud , we are called names.

News such as this inspires us to pursue our freedom!
